Barbara Billingsley -- best known for playing June Cleaver on "Leave it to Beaver" -- passed away this morning. She was 94.

My poor sister, who was born in 1949, is named Gay. Back in those days, that was a pretty name with no bad connotations. She can never have a T-shirt with her name on it.

But there was a Billingsley who starred in a hilarious movie about a kid who wanted a BB gun for Christmas.

That would be Peter Billingsly, who was also in a number of commercials. "A Christmas Story" is a classic, plus you can get the lamp his dad won!

I didn’t see the resemblance....Barbara was a very attractive woman, but the best I can get out of Lucy is her contorted shrieking “Rickkkkky” - could never stomach Lucille Ball and her cheesy slapstick style.

Just looked it up: Sherman Billingsley (1900-1966) was a well-known New York night club operator who had mob ties.
