Most of us are scared of something - but imagine being too terrified to sleep in the dark.
This week it emerged that five million people in Britain are spooked when the lights go off.
Fears are often caused by childhood experiences or a traumatic incident. Some people are scared of dogs because they were bitten by one.
But why anyone in Britain should be afraid of spiders is a total mystery. None of the native ones are harmful.
Here are some of the phobias that make us tremble - and the fancy names doctors have given them.
There does not appear to be a scientific term, recognized by the medical community, to describe a medical or psychological condition relating to the fear of taxes.
However, while many online sources include the term taxophobia, the term appears to have been possibly created by the news media. In context, the term does mean fear of taxes or the fact taxes can be used as a political weapon to destroy a person, business or product.....
If you think that’s bad .. I am a Horrible person when I wake up.
Can’t think straight, stumble around like I’m drunk and have a NASTY attitude! 8)
Well, being that I am so ‘dis-jointed’ ... (not to mention lazy) when I first get up .. I don’t like to do ANYTHING so ... a lot of times, I’ll just put the old coffee from the day before on the burner, re-heat it and .. well you get the idea.
On one particularly bad morning, I took the day before’s left-over coffee/sludge, dumped it in a pot that had been sitting on the stove over-nite and heated it, (the coffee/sludge) to a boil.
Dumped the heated coffee/sludge/mess into a BIG mug .. stirred in a little milk and sugar and then proceeded to ‘down’ the whole mess .. LUMPS and all!
Yep .. Lumps.
All that was left at the bottom of my mug was the BIGGEST set of wings that never belonged on a Unicorn!
I spent the next hour .. running around like a mad man .. fingers, Hell, almost my whole fist shoved down my throat .. trying my ‘damndest’ to Rid myself of the THING that I had just ingested!
To This Day .. I’m not sure if I have ever really .. regained my .. SANITY!
AHHhhhhhhhhhhh!! LOL
Only if I could do it with my eyes closed.
Even that picture makes me feel queasy
They feared the "pop!" when the seal broke.
PHOPHOBIA
