SNIP

On Saturday, Olivarez took Mia to the Westcott Veterinary Care Center on Grand River in Detroit to put her down. Afterward, he took the dog's remains back home and put them in his garage as he planned to bury the dog on Sunday. But when he went into the garage the next morning, he discovered Mia wide awake. "I was shocked," said Olivarez.

Poor Mia. If she can survive the attempted euthansia maybe she’s healthier/stronger than they think. I understand if she’s in pain, but I kinda hope she gets a reprieve.

Doctor's notes: The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle. The chalice from the palace has the brew that is true.

Nurse's notes: Doctor, we broke the vessel with the pestle. The pellet with the poison's in the chalice from the palace. The flagon with the dragon has the brew that is true.

The scary/disturbing thing about this is that he could have buried her before she woke up. Yes, I know, it’s just a dog but being buried alive....One also has to wonder how many Other pets have been buried alive here.

The last thing Olivarez says in the video is, “Now I gotta go through this again.”

I know, but I almost hope he reconsiders.

Gosh. You'd think it was him they were gonna put down.

It is not an easy thing to do to put a beloved pet to sleep.

“Would you trust that vet after this happened?”

Actually, that reminds me of one of my favorite Herriot stories. He was treating an animal at a farm & noticed a sheep in distress. He wanted to go take a look at it, but the farmer didn’t want another bill & said the sheep would just have to take its chances. The farmer walked away for a short time, so Herriot took his chance to administer what he thought was a lethal dose to put it down & then left.

Some time later he was back on the same farm & asked the guy about the sheep. He said it was the strangest thing, the sheep went to sleep for three days & then woke up fine & dandy. Herriot took from that experience that sometimes animals just need relief from the stress of pain to be able to recover. Pretty cool!

Yeah, but I usually favor the animal when it comes to a vets advice..

My critters will die here on the farm, no matter what, or (sadly) how...

I have already planned for this. Its my animal...

Putting down a pet is of course the worst part of having one. Been there, more than once.
