SIL fixed some FRESH gulf shrimp, fried yesterday, fried some pickles. Shrimp had no oil taste to them at all. It is so nice when you want seafood one only needs to go to the fishing boats docked at their sites.

There is so much more flavor, isn’t there, when it is purchased that way. I miss that.

I used to live near the docks in CT......and they’d have good deals every day....like “one-clawed” lobsters for $1 (they couldn’t sell them otherwise).

But I got so sick of lobsters after a while—I couldn’t eat them for years afterwards. Never did tire of the clam chowder in the local mom and pop restaurant down there.
