This is absolutely horrible that anyone would take their own life, but there is a simple solution to what is happening in the schools... Parents can start parenting again. Parents are too scared to discipline their kids now a days. It's not the schools fault to me. Lessons start at home.
My heart breaks reading this.
Poor girl. They should go after the kids who bullied her. This is above and beyond heartless. These kids were evil.
I have always taught my children charity. They have been taught to never point out someone’s differences; they are to befriend the friendless, and to always be kind.
I told my oldest son that I NEVER want to hear of him ever being unkind to anyone.
At a very young age, he was only allowed to watch programs like Davey and Goliath, Vegetales, etc. Some secular cartoons are allowed only if they teach something. I have really seen the fruits of this, my children are very kind to others.
Thank God!
Parents do need to start parenting but I dont think thats this girls issue.
Parents are now taught they need to be their kids friends and not parents. All part of the socialist agenda.
My daughter, who is an intelligent, strong and mechanically inclined young woman, was being picked on middle school. A clique of twits was calling her a lesbian, saying she was pregnant, etc.
One of the young women involved was a former friend and came up to the table where my daughter was sitting with her friends at lunch and in a loud voice asked my daughter if she was a lesbian. My daughter jumped up on the table and shouted, “Why Emily, I didn’t know you liked girls. You’re not my type, but I’m sure we can find you a date for homecoming!”
I got a call from the VP and told him that we had filed 6 complaints in the last two years about this particular girl bullying my daughter and the last time we came in, he told my daughter that she would just have to deal with it. I said, “She has now dealt with it as you told her to. If you don’t like how she dealt with it, you should have been more specific or dealt with it yourself.”
The bullying stopped and I didn’t hear anymore from the VP.
They should be suing the bullies parents. A civil suit against them might open some eyes as to the REAL problem.
And teachers should be able to start paddling again. When I was in school and got spanked by the teacher I got a butt whipping when I got home. And the one at school was nothing compared to what I got at home. Today my mother would be charged with child abuse.
Feral kids feeding on foreigners. Phoebe Prince, this, now who is next? Sick how this goes on and the idiot administrators do nothing. Even after complaints.
Discipline your child and go to jail. In many places all it takes is stern words. The UN Rights Of The Child treaty is being implemented all over the country without any ratification. It is just being done.
The family watched . . . as the girls who had tormented Sladjana for months walked up to the casket and laughed. "They were laughing at the way she looked," Suzana says, crying. "Even though she died."
What kind of monsters are people breeding?
Bullies in school serve the same informally authorized function as rapists in prison — breaking spirits, humiliating the inmates, enforcing the desired sense of passivity and impotence. Bullies are an integral part of the system — and the sooner public education goes away, the happier the world will be.
If a kid hits another, even in self defense, they'll be punished for it.
All this touchy-feely bullsh*t has painted the kids into the corner.
Time to chuck the sociology texts, dump the dimestore counseling and psychology, and let the victims kick the crap out of the bully on the playground early on. Everyone will be better off for it.
.
At least these kids are getting the socialization they need to excel in today’s modern workforce. I mean, just the other day in the five minutes between meetings, one of my co-workers knocked the laptop out of the hands of another co-worker and called him “homo”. We all made it back to our next meeting before the bell rang. Our supervisor didn’t see it, so everything is cool.
I mean, these things just happen in the workplace. Just like in government schools.
(Maybe you have to have it pointed out to you that the above is absurdity. I think stories like this are another reason why government schools should be abolished. Most FReepers won’t agree because they know their kid is going to a “better than average” or “great” school and getting taught by “excellent” teachers.)
“When the family tried to retrieve records about their reports of bullying, school officials told them the records were destroyed during a switch to computers. “
Sickening...
A few years ago, a Bosnian family named Vidovic came to Euclid, Ohio, to escape persecution by Serbs in an embattled region. Realizing their dream of reaching freedom in America put them in debt and forced both parents to take two jobs. However, to see their youngest daughter, Sladjana, so full of excitement as she entered the local high school made it all seem worthwhile. She was a lovely girl, with rosy skin and long blond hair, but she had an accent, she wore strange clothes, and her hairstyle was not exactly contemporary. She was ignored and taunted so continuously that one day she wrote a four-page suicide note. Her sister found her hanging out the window, a rope around her neck.
Her bewildered and devastated parents couldn’t understand what had happened to Sladjana. “We came here to be safe,” her father said. “We thought we were going to have a better life.”
In nearby Mentor, Ohio, outside East Cleveland, broken children like Sladjana abounded. There had been five suicides in two years at the Mentor middle and high schools. And the area was far from unique. Thousands of schools, public and private, are ruled not by their principals but by the bullies, and have had at least one, if not multiple, adolescent suicides.
Too bad someone/anyone didn't tell her how beautiful she was and that life would get better.
Adrian Beganovic, a 2009 Mentor High graduate, said he would try and stand up for Sladjana but that security guards in the school would threaten him with suspension.
“I even got the same treatment,” he said, “but I was big and strong.”
Sladjana was fine while attending elementary school in Willoughby,
Suzana said, but things turned bad at Ridge Middle School in Mentor and then followed her into 10th grade at Mentor High school. Some students would make fun of two moles on Sladjana’s face, Suzana said. But even after she had them removed, the harassment continued.
The lawsuit claims Mentor High Principal Joseph Spiccia and Mentor School District Superintendent Jacqueline Hoynes knew what Sludjana was going through but failed to intervene. The Vidovics complained numerous times, the lawsuit said, warning school officials that Sladjana had become depressed and telling them that bullying had lead to emotional problems that caused her to be hospitalized.
The Vidovics were in the process of taking Sladjana out of Mentor High and enrolling her in a private school when she killed herself, Myers said.

I suspected my young son was being bullied. Every time I asked if any of the kids were picking on him he said no. But something wasn’t right.
Finally, parents started calling us, telling us their kids came home crying because the teacher was bullying my son.
He’s not been back to public school since. The teacher had the good sense to leave town.
