Not only did I step on the nail but I stepped hard enough for it to hit the bone. When I looked after I did it I had clear liquid seeping from the puncture wound. From what I hear now that is bad. I guess that if an infection gets to the bone it spreads very quick, so they treat it very aggressively. In my case they did surgery to open it up, clean it out, and pack it so it can drain.
I do know that my 5 sons are hanging their heads in shame that their mom was out cleaning up the yard and that is when she stepped on the nail. I should have lots of points when I get home and maybe even never have to clean up the yard ever again.

To the bone... Ouch.

I don’t remember the pain so much as I do have a reminder of that day every now and then when I feel a sharp pain right where the nail entered my foot. I was with a friend and we were swimming in the St Lawrence River. On the way back to hi house I jumped over so0me RR tracks and when I landed a nail went right through my sneaker and into the middle of my foot. While the scar is almost unnoticeable today, I can locate it easily when I feel the sharp pain.

No one ever told me when I went to the ER for the tetanus shot that I might have hit a nerve, but years later when I mentioned the pain to my doctor, he told me that I may have.

So how long is the prognosis for healing. Also, you can thank God that he allowed this to happen now and not after Obama’s death care destroys our medical society.

momto6, and you have 5 boys. Am I right to say you must have at least one daughter?

If so then you probably will have at least a Clara Barton to help nurse you back to full health while your sons are cleaning up the yard.

I pray all goes well for you and yours, God bless.

Go Vikes.
