Loved Highway Patrol when I was a youngster! Mr. Crawford could really get his jaws flappin’ as he barked codes, road blocks, and murder weapons into his official Highway Patrol car mic.

I've got an old retired CHP buddy who named his son Erik (who's current CHP)....must've been a bit of teasing here and there.

Ok, when I was a little girl eating breakfast in a Miami hotel (it was either the Eaton Rock or the Fountain Blue because that is how my mom rolled) my mom made me go over to the table next to us to get Broderick Crawford’s autograph. Of course, I had no idea who he was but my mom knew everyone and he obliged!

2150 to Headquarters. Headquarters bye (or is it bi ;-)
Actually Brods best performance was in “All the King’s Men”, a takeoff on Huey P. Long. I’ll never forget his line where he was castigating the public and called them, “You bunch of hicks.”

Fantastic! I have many happy childhood memories of eating fish sticks and baked beans while watching ‘Highway Patrol.’

I’ve become addicted to watching episodes of “Highway Patrol” that are shown on the THIS network. It was positively amazing how Dan Matthews could be anywhere in the state (California) within a matter of minutes to foil the crooks. It’s also a laugh to have the cops and the dispatchers omit the name of the car or cars involved in the crimes. It’s never a blue Ford of Chevy, it’s always a blue sedan or coupe. Still a lot of fun to watch.
