Eddie Van Halen alone gets credited for “Beat it.” That’s a mistake. Steve Lukather deserves credit. Ya wanna know how easy it is to overlook a great guitar soloist because he’s just playing for the wrong people? Listen to the guitar solo at the end of “Running with the Night” by Lionel Richie. Yes, Lionel Richie. (Did you forget that there even *were* guitar solos on Lionel Richie’s albums?) That’s Steve Lukather, too. Sounds a lot like “Eddie Van Halen,” from “Beat It,” huh?
Avatar by Les Dudek.
Look At You Look At Me by Dave Mason.
I'd Love To Change The World By Alvin Lee.
Cheap Tequila by Johnny Winter....
Dimeola is great.
No ZZ Top either. Hmmm.
Jerry Reed,Tommy Emanuel, & Chet Atkins are three of the very best.
Lukather also did the solo at the end of The Tubes’ “Talk to Ya Later.”
I had “Aces High” cranked last week.
She sure does.
Great. Never heard of them, however. Here is one for you:

What about Steve Hackett for “Firth of Fifth.”
On second thought, this may be more to your liking:

About 20 years ago, I was in a hotel lobby and saw EVH. He was with his now-deceased manager. I got into a brief conversation and then one or both said to join them. It turned into a 2-to—3 hour conversation at an isolated table in the lobby dining room. I wish I could remember most of the chatter but... the drinks were free. :-) I do know “Beat It” was discussed.
“Johnny Winter holds 4 of the 6 slots in my car’s CD changer. There isn’t a list out there that matters more than that!”
Yep! That’s where the rubber meets the road.
I hear some riffs on my MP3 player and I am back in 1967. Amazing memory aids, Oh SuziQ, baby I love you. Oh SuziQ (now THAT song is in my head, dang it)
Stranglehold for sure should be on the list.
Free Bird and Layla are definite. Not a big Led Zeppelin fan, so I disagree with Stairway at the top.
Passable list overall.
Always liked what Santana did on “Open Invitation”.
TY is one of the best “new” rock guitarist on the scene.
Voodoo Chile (slight return}
