I expected it to be the youtube clip it was before I saw outofstyle’s comment, when I saw it I knew which one it had to be...

Nigel Tufnel (Spinal Tap) - Stonehenge You're beautiful.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.

Love this thread. No one has a lukewarm opinion. Am I wrong or is Carlos Santana missing on the list?

Nice. That’s why I love the Internet. You can find Johnny Nonames who can make the angels weep with their virtuosity.

Listen to Dave Mason’s 1974 album “Dave Mason.” He’s playing an electric guitar on the song.

Yup. Santana was my initial glaring omission. Also Rush, Skunk Baxter (Doobies, Steely Dan-BODHISATTVA!), Edgar Winter, the Edge, Brian Setzer...

I regard him as a great guitarist...One of the best.
Blues, rock, you name it, the guy could play.
Did he play lot's of bluesy stuff...Yeah. Did he have to? No.
Neither did SRV...fwiw-

This is a gibson huh?Yep. A Gibson SG. Appears to be an early Angus Young Signature model like the one below but it's hard to tell without a clear shot of the headstock.
Nice playing! Cute legs!

I doubt the Edge would qualify in this list, I know of no solo work from him that could be defined as great.
To: dfwgator
An average Frank Zappa guitar solo blows away most of those. agreed.
Where's Buck Dharma on the list? No where
Alex Lifeson?
