Egyptian archaeologists have unearthed part a 3,400-year-old statue of the pharaoh Amenhotep III, believed to be the grandfather of the young King Tutankhamun, antiquities chief Zahi Hawass said on Saturday. 'The statue was found near the northern entrance of Amenhotep III's temple and depicts the king sitting down on a throne with Amun,' the chief deity, Hawass said. The temple is one of the largest on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor.

As for Tiy having red hair...c’mon! We’ve all seen plenty of depictions of her. She was twice as African as 0bama.
Isn’t it said that many mummies have red hair because the stuff that makes it brown or black will fade with time, faster than the stuff that makes it red? (So that most mummy hair gets redder with time.)
Either that or there’s something in the human psyche that urges folks to mummify redheads, because there sure are a lot of them in the mummy population.
Amenhotep III was a fat old guy. That photo isn’t A3! It’s Louie the Lip!

Behold Tiye. If that's a redhead, I'm a pinchhitter for the Shirelles.
