Tonight I want to hear of your favorite Animal Rescue Organization. Where would YOU go to if you were to adopt a dog and give it it's forever home?
Please share your stories about your rescue dogs and the folks who rescued them for you.
The one I support and would get another dog if circumstances warranted ... is German Shepherd of Orange County.
Their site is HERE!
The Doggie Ping list is for FReepers who would like to be notified of threads relating to all things canid. If you would like to join the Doggie Ping Pack (or be unleashed from it), FReemail Joe 6-Pack.
GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE of Orange County. Rescue! Sheesh.
So I gave her this pack of 3 balls for this energetic adopted poodle. 4 yorkies, a poodle, 2 cats when they feel like it. Vying for attention. She threw it and it went ‘thud.
VERY good boy!!!
Who couldn't love a face like this?

Another organization dedicated to saving dogs and cats and help getting them adopted:
The Lange Foundation.
The Lange Foundation was founded in 1993 by Gillian Lange, recipient of the City of Los Angeles St. Francis of Assisi Award in recognition of her work on behalf of abandoned and neglected animals since 1974. To date, she has helped rescue and place over 20,000 cats and dogs that would have otherwise been destroyed in shelters.
Lange Foundation is dedicated to saving impounded companion animals, and preparing them for a journey to a new safe, loving world. We have also initiated an ongoing sterilization program, to dramatically reduce the number of unwanted pets born in Los Angeles County.”

Thanks for your link!!
I’ve recently started following this group via Facebook...

Thank you very much!!!
Unfortunately nowhere because I’m allergic to dogs. But if I could, something around 30-40lbs for me.
Thanks, kanawa! I follow them too...
I know you saw the story about the couple who are homeless, living in their car...AND DIDN’T LEAVE THEIR TWO DOGS BEHIND....
My favorite rescue is Big Fluffy Dogs in TN and MA. They rescue Great Pyrenees, Saint Bernards, Newfoundlands and their mixes in the Nashville area and adopt most out up north. They take in many other breeds of adoptable dogs, though. I don’t think they say “No” to any dog in need. We have 2 Great Pyrenees mixes, Toby and Clancy, from them. Their website is www.bigfluffydogs.com but the real activity takes place on their Facebook page.
Durn about the allergies!!! And not just because of an animal...
You can support them in other ways...by just “being there”. Talking about your local shelter...
I have 2 I really support besides the Humane Society.

http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/WI321.html This lady is amazing. She seriously has devoted her life to helping these babies.
There are others here also that I would look at if we decide to get Giz a playmate.
Thank you!!!!
Only if you wish....
:)
I added cats to the keywords...goodness knows there’s an equally large amount of kittens/adult cats who need adopting, too.
