Personally, I completely agree with Glenn Reynolds that having this idiot Colbert testify was nothing more than a Democrat stunt to take the media's eye off the very real and important testimony also taking place today regarding the Justice Department's racism scandals. So the more cringe-worthy and embarrassing Colbert's appearance is, the better. Naturally, the MSM will be all too willing to play along. They fully understand how damaging the DOJ Black Panther case is to the Obama Administration and have no desire to come anywhere near covering it.
And of course, there's Stephen Colbert, just as willing to play along - a narcissistic attention whore with no respect for the political process who thinks his schtick combined with a ten hour day he spent in the vegetable fields somehow makes him a compelling and important witness.

The MSM would not have reported the DOJ scandal regardless of Colbert.
And did the appearance of Colbert add anything constructive to the illegal immigration debate? Or did it just promote him and his show and his ascerbic wit?
Fallout from this has to fall on good Democrats, since good Democrats invited him to appear and wanted him to appear “in character”. As a serious concerned citizen who happens to be famous, he might have added somehow to the debate. But not when appearing as his blustering alter ego full of one lines and non sequiters.
I said this on Friday.
What I found interesting was watching the one lady checking her cell phone. That just shows you how entertaining he was; he even bored them in the House; and Colbert wasn’t that funny either. The comment about a Chilean giving him a Brazilian. That was just weird and I have a hunch half of America has no clue what he meant.
Exactly.
We The People don’t fall for distractions ever again! To do so, is perilous to one’s freedom!
Dems’ Trained Clown: I thought that was Al Franken’s job.
It’s the Ebony stupid
This DOJ crime should be huge, but it hasn’t reached the level of a huge scandal. I know that more DOJ workers have testified. I think (and pray) that Rush, Hannity, O’Reilly, Beck and the rest are all over this next week.
This is some distraction. People are livid at this waste of time and money for Colberts shoddy performance. The DOJ story will keep coming out and people are becoming aware of its abuses.
Colbert is a brilliant comedian. But, big waste of congressional time..
Congress is nothing but a bad reality TV show. One of the worst in a lousy genre.
“Brilliant”? His one character act is tired. His jokes are not funny as evidenced by his performance in front of congress. I am not the only one who thinks this. He loses 40% of Jon Stuart Leibowitz’s lead in. He was mildly acceptable in “Strangers with Candy”.
I don’t agree with him at all politically. But he’s funny. Congress should not be wasting their time on this assclown or sports. IMHO
