Hidden Real Estate Sales tax in Health care bill Surprise! There are already at least 20 hidden taxes in the Obama Health care plan coming down upon us the next few years. So, along with rationed care for seniors and forced health insurance, we now find there is a Real Estate Tax snuck into the Health care plan. You may ask, what in Gods green earth does health care have to do with Real Estate taxes??? Absolutely nothing, that is precisely why one got snuck in there.
....I was forwarded this latest tax scheme by Van Hipp, President of American Defense International and the former Deputy Secretary of the Army under Bush senior and Ronald Reagan. He recommended the well known accountant and expert witness on tax matters, Paul Guppy who wrote a commentary on the various hidden taxes in the Spokesman Review paper, Health Laws Heavy impact.
Starting in 2013, not only will you pay the closing costs and real estate fee when you sell your house but now you will pay a 3.8% Sales Tax. So, if you sell your home for $400,000, perhaps wanting to down size if you are a senior you will pay $15,200 in Tax.
Here we have another assault on our seniors again. Many downsize their homes as retirement comes closer, so along with long lines and rationed care that is substandard, seniors and anyone will have to pay more tax on the home they just sold.

Exactly!!! In tens years, everyone will be affected by this tax. It basically means the government automatically owns 4% of all homes in the USA. aka stealing.

The housing tax? Its double taxation... those homes were typically bought and paid for out of tax paid dollars. Is the issue to tax someone on the increment in capital due to inflation? Well then to be fair, there should be refunds when the market goes backwards!
Greedy government bastards.
Same reason that there are now taxes on named brand medicines, knee & hip replacement parts, wheel chairs, etc. Because they CAN and did.
It is embarrassing to read the same BS over and over again.
This claim is not true.
This is like Global Warming scam, no matter how many times it is discredited, it just keeps popping up. Conservatives will lose credibility if they keep touting this false claim.
Obamacare is bad, and it also includes extra tax for taxable gain on house sale, but the normal $250k ($500k if married filing jointly) exclusion applies.
The tax is bad and one day (after few years of high inflation) is may even apply, but now it is not applicable for the scenarios claimed.
Please stop this is BS. I always thought that one thing that separates conservatives and liberals is the abilityt to stick to the truth and facts on the conservative side.
Cloward.
Piven.
Bring the system to its knees.
All this stuff is never intended to work. The last thing they want for it to do is succeed.
There it is, summed up in 4 lines. Twenty seven words that says it all. Remember in November.
But it didn't originate in the House, so it's ipso facto unconstitutional. Game over.

Sigh... my first ever double post. I have NO idea how that happened, either.
There are people who accept higher taxes for 250K+ income until I point out that the taxes are not indexed to inflation. AMT was suppose to catch super rich people and make them pay taxes during the 1970’s. Not being indexed to inflation, today there are many people considered super rich and must pay AMT when they are actually upper middle class. The working middle class do not realize that within twenty years they will be paying the 250K+ rates just on the effects of inflation. By the way the Federal Reserve concluded the US can never pay off their debts unless they can ignite inflation. That is why we have such low interest rates and massive printing of paper currency.
So now there is a NATIONAL SALES TAX in addition to the closing costs imposed by states and cities!!!!!
This is because the marxists in Washington really don’t want you to own a house, but if you do, you’re gonna pay them so they can use the money to give free housing to people who vote democrat!!!
4% of the sale price! Free money to the federal government, and an illegal seizure of some of the value of your house.
4% of the sale price!
It’s way, way past torches and pitchforks time. Way past.
It makes no difference what the selling price, capital gain or price is. It is none of the government’s business what private property sells for. I know, I know - there is no such thing as private prooerty, since Kelo.
This is so wrong on so many counts. Dare to defy them.
I’d take this before the Supreme Court but I have no standing, I’m just a US citizen. I’d have my State take it before the Supreme Court but taxation is a Congressional right and a matter of national security when funds are needed to defend the country. Defend the country against its own citizens.
Exactly! That’s what me and another freeper were discussing in post #21.
Here is the bill. Some interesting profit talk page 207, 208... I have searched the document but cannot find specifics on taxing home sales.
