UK Telegraph ^ | 9-22-2010 | Lindy West

Posted on 09/25/2010 6:48:28 PM PDT by Frantzie

Let’s just jump right into it, shall we? It’s 2008 – pre-financial crisis. Deposed goblin king Gordon Gekko (actual goblin king Michael Douglas) is out of prison, trying to warn Wall Street about the coming collapse, and looking to get his claws on some doubloons and such.

Never saw the first “Wall Street”. I won’t be seeing this one. I’m not a Douglas fan. Always thought he should be required to work for his money like a lot of the rest of us out here.

Just about everything Hollywood puts out is trash and ALL of TV is garbage. 99.7% is total propaganda for the left and islam.

Oliver Stone is a loon....I don't care if he makes a dime off of this film, but it does feature the lovely Natalie Morales in a supporting role. I thought she was great as Wendy Watson in the ABC Family series The Middleman and I think she has a chance to be a huge star someday...

Hollywood begins its spin and revisionism. This is an opening barrage for 2012.

First off, Oliver Stone=Conspiratorial Crap. Second, Shia LeBoeuf’s acting is so wooden it makes Pinocchio look like Sir Lawrence Olivier.

David Bowie is the one and only Goblin King, in the Labyrinth film with a young Jennifer Connolly.

Isn’t Chelsea Clinton married to a Wall Street financier whose father recently got out of prison?

I don’t intend to see it, even though I loved the first one. The second on, looks like we already saw play live in 2007-2008

.

Cut him some slack.
I think Michael Douglas is a good actor and I’ve enjoyed many of his movies such as Falling Down, Fatal Attraction, The Jewel of the Nile, Romancing the Stone etc.

As far as his politics, haven’t read that he’s had too much to say about it one way or the other. Whatever his beliefs, I haven’t heard of him always spouting off about it like the obnoxious Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, ad naseum.

As far as saying he should get a real job, acting IS a real job. (and bless all those actors past and present who have left us such marvelous entertainment) It takes a lot of work and a lot of talent to remain a big star.
He certainly didn’t make it because he was the son of Kirk Douglas.
Having a famous parent may open a few doors, but you have to have real talent and work hard to get anywhere and stay on top.

I was saddened to learn he has what is probably terminal throat cancer.

and the people on the thread who saw it say it’s a good movie. Also it gets very high marks on rottomtomatoes. Ya pays your money and ya takes your chances.

>>> Shia LeBouf is so lame.

Well you got me there. He is.

I hope Michael Douglas gets well but he has always been a lib and supporter of Dems. Falling Down made fun of conservatives. People here mention that film but it was making fun of people like us.

It is too bad he has serious throat cancer. He’s also been pretty honest about it and admits it’s from his own drinking and smoking.

Michael was quite vocal with his leftist politics during the ‘90’s. Then he married Kathrine Zeta Jones and he must have gotten distracted , because he kinda went quiet .

I wish him well in his battle.

You are correct. I don’t know why it’s so difficult for people to “just say no” to Hollywood trash and television, the idiot box. To think of living app 70-80 years and wasting a good chunk of that allotted time giving attention to lies and propaganda, and enriching the liars who create it, it’s crazy. When it’s not leftist propaganda, it’s inanity.

The Middleman was great stuff. Men In Black except intelligent and witty. I had never heard of it until well after its run. After netflixing it, the DVD set was bought.

I am sorry for what Douglas is going thru, but the fact remains that he is a 200% Liberal. For one thing, Douglas became an advocate of gun control after Chapman shot and Killed John Lennon. He also played the fictional leftist President in The American President, that was directed I believe by Meathead Reiner. Furthermore, the real jobs out there don’t even remotely resemble the so-called “Real Job” that Douglas and his ilk have. Unlike most working Americans, Douglas has never had to worry about paying the bills, and making ends meet. He has lived a life of wealth since he was born. End of discussion.
