Indians lose? In 70 years, some things never change.

And ... last night in real time, the TB Rays went into the lead in the AL East over the Yankees by a 1/2 (.5) game. I rooted for the Yankees in earlier years but after the Rays got started my affections changed and after 2008's "Worst to First" (even though they lost the Series to the Phillies), I now go to the games and root for my team! Go Rays!

FYI: I love these posts on the world -70 years, keep them coming!

A note on a realo change in baseball. Take a look at the 2nd game of the Yankees-Senators Double-header. It was called for darkness in the 7th Inning, something we now have totally forgotten about.

For the historian the first MLB Night-Game was May 24th, 1935 where the visiting Phillies lost to the Reds. Of course the last stadium to install and use lights for night playing was the Cubbies who still have the fewest night games.

We covered the first night game at Ebbets field. It was a memorable night for more than just the technological innovation.
