Southerners are more like to die from the effects of the weather than people living in any other region of the US.
Kind of interesting, even though the data is over a year old.
Can also look at separate counties with the links provided on the page.

Aren’t earthquakes natural disasters? Dozens, if not hundreds, have been killed in California and Arkansas thanks to them, but they don’t seem to count on this map.

Arent earthquakes natural disasters? Ya, but the U.S. and place like CA don't have Haiti building codes...That is why so few die in modern American earthquakes.
Tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes are the big killers and happen all the time in the Midwest, northeast etc....
