Not bad.

My ‘97 was made in 1922. 30” barrel with a full choke, it smokes trap targets from the 27 yard line.

If you’ve seen any of the Mauser rifles that were imported from China, you’d know how they could wear out a 97. I bought a couple of those rifles, and there wasn’t one salvageable part on them, even the sights were worn out. And I’ve seen a lot of old 97’s that would drop the hammer when you closed the slide too hard. And no, not with the trigger depressed. They were just shot out.

It’s a standard 1917 rifle bayonet. Originals are worth $100+ these days.

I can’t imagine wearing out a ‘97 that badly. Good thing the Chinese have overcome their quality control issues.... ;)
