I do not like it when people give dogs goofy names. I like names like Shep, Buddy, Lucky.

One or two syllables, starts with a consonant. About the only rules I have. Dogs usually react to the first syllable, so the second is superfluous.

You would hate my daughter. She has a greyhound/shepherd mix named Decaf and a three-legged Ridgeback named Chili. The cats were Skinny and Romie. But the names really fit the animals.
