Powerful Scottish Music Happening, Trans Atlantic Seaway Collaboration
New Hampshire Highland Games ^ | 21 Sept 2010 | Candor7

A highly unusual series of concerts occurred in relation to the New Hampshire Highland Games last weekend ( Sept 17th, 18th and 19th), annually held at Loon Mountain Ski Resort, located in Lincoln New Hampshire.

What was unusual is that three schools of music and performing arts gathered amateur students together across the Atlantic ocean for a collaboration of young musicians, from the Scottish Royal Academy of Music and Drama ( Glasgow), The Strathclyde College of Performing Arts, and the Berklee College if Music ( Boston).

The twenty or so young people first met each other on Wednesday the 15th of September, and in three days, created one of the most synchronized, powerful presentations of music seen on this side of the Atlantic, ...ever.

These young folk wowed their audiences to standing ovations, people were laughing and crying at the same time as they cheered these young folk on. They shone like beacons, and displayed an uncommon spontaneous synchronicity in their performances. It was magic.

It is rare to see music bring tears of joy, but this was one occasion in which that happened. Traditional culture is alive and well, and its relationship to empowering conservative culture in America cannot be denied. You can see video of the music at the article link. Go ahead, treat yourself!

The amateur collaboration was organized by Louise Mitchell of Glasgow City of Music,[ http://www.glasgowcityofmusic.com] and Derek Davidson , executive Director if the New Hampshire Highland Games [ http://www.nhscot.org/]

[Many yellow Tea Party T shirts were in evidence at these Highland Games, and taking back our country was a topic of general conversation everywhere.]
