Colin Powell decries 'nonsense' attacks on Obama
Associated Press ^ | 9-19-10

Retired Gen. Colin Powell, a moderate Republican who endorsed Barack Obama in 2008, says the president's critics should be going after him on policy, not "nonsense."

"Fringe" elements on the right are taking a low road when they label Obama a foreign-born Muslim and peddle other theories about non-American influences on the president's character, Powell said Sunday. Obama was born in the U.S. and is Christian.

The former secretary of state said he still sees Obama as a transformational figure, if one who has lost some of his ability to connect with people.

Powell welcomed Obama's policies in health care and education while saying the president may have taken on too many problems at once and not done enough to control the deficit.

"There are so many rocks in our knapsack now that we're having trouble carrying it," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

We are very fortunate that Powell lacks the fire in the belly for the vice presidency or presidency. If he would have been elected he would have been a disaster.

In addition to lacking the fire in the belly, he also lacks gray matter in the head. Where was he when outrageous lies were being spread about Bush? Questions of Obama's citizenship status are least reasonable, and, if untrue, would be simple to dismiss.

It's not enough, he said, to call for goals that most Americans support, such as controlled federal spending and adherence to the Constitution.

Well, most Amercans except the vast majority of politicians, a significant percent of Supreme Court Justices, the Prsident and liberals in general.

Powell is now obviously part of the Tokyo Rove Party.

The same family established both of them.

Notice how this “Moderate” entirely avoids the policy details that led to Obama’s problems? It is always the same with them. Always a refusal to talk about the issues and only address things in general terms so to cast their opponents as just being “mean” to them. Powell is just another useful idiot.

The real problem was nonsense endorsements.

Colin Powell’s voting for Obama was more nonsensical than anything said about Obama. His craven support was because Obama was black, not despite the fact that’s he black.

Don’t worry, folks. Colin Powell is just upset because he picked a person of no personal integrity, no leadership skills, no abilities and huge (hugh) ears to back.

Who cares what this man who wouldn’t have risen above colonel if he were white says?

************

Remember when he made the absurd claim of creating the concept of combined air and land attacks on isolated targets? The doctrine was first employed in the Kaiserschlacht and Château-Thierry offensives in 1918.

A Parlor Marshal. Nothing more.

When you wrote, “What is nonsense, Powell, is your non-merit based, non-judgmental, affirmative action, racist injustice, which has put both you and Zero in positions, greatly exceeding your intellect and ability”, you put it all in a nut shell.
Colon Bowel only got these promotions because “moderate Republicans” thought by inserting skin color into the Republican camp, they would avoid being labeled “racist”.

Colin Powell suddenly surfacing shows how desperate the White House is to right the SS Obama.
Powell’s quotes in the article show him clearly aligning with the Democrats.
Someone arriving here from outer space would assume that he was a Democrat spokesman.
“ We “ have too many rocks in our knapsack ???
Speaking of rocks - which course is that dumb box of rocks playing today ?

“The former secretary of state said he still sees Obama as a transformational figure”

Powell, like Obama is finding out that being black is no substitute for competence, and a fawning media can call you an intellectual, but it can’t actually make it so.

The transformation is one in which Obama is trying to convert America into to Europe. This is a bizarre liberal alchemy where you squeeze the golden goose until it stops laying golden eggs and simply yields the goose-poop of liberal utopia.

I don't care what red Gen. Colin Powell has to say, he's irrelevant. This man has proved once and for all that he himself has done nothing to contribute to the betterment of this country.

"It’s too bad that Secretary Powell let race determine his vote in 2008. I still can’t believe someone who fought communism with Ronald Reagan could have endorsed our current president. Talk about being fooled."

The goal of despotic government is to break the back and will of the governed. Either Powell is ignorant of this fact or is compliant with it. I suggest the latter is true.

Retired Gen. Colin Powell, a moderate Republican who endorsed Barack Obama in 2008, says ...

... he fully supports the communist direction Obama/Pelosi/Reid are taking the country.

That's all anyone needs to know about Powell, ever, ever, again.
