That’s weird. The driver (?) got out of the passenger side before running off. I would’ve guessed that an unwilling passenger was the one who ran off, perhaps after causing the driver to crash.

I watch too many crime shows.

I am thinking the driver got out what we call the passenger side, but there it's the drivers side.
