You may not wish to believe it, but there is sound scientific evidence for a non-rotating Earth.

Really?

You do know why spacecraft are generally launched on an eastbound trajectory, right?

$50 for ten stand-up comedians and a complimentary luncheon? I'm there!

(Also, your user name is quite appropriate for the subject.)

General Relativity is wrong too?

That would be something, considering that GPS navigation doesn't work without taking it into account.

A Gallup poll from the '90s showed that 18% of Americans believe that the Sun rotates around the Earth, which just goes to show that there's no idea so absurd that you can't get millions of people to believe in it.

Geosynchronous satellites are just hovering in space if the Earth is still. What keeps them up?

So some arbitrary quasar, sitting at the edge of the observable universe, orbits the Earth every 24 hours moving at what speed, again?

Everyone knows the universe was created 9 hours ago when I woke up, and is centered wherever my eyeballs are.

Did you just wink? I felt the universe shift about 2 inches to the right.

Yeah, but that's OK. General Relativity hasn't been completely proven. Special Relativity is apparently wrong and that's been pretty well tested and proven.

I wonder what these guys think about Quantum Mechanics? If that were wrong, electronics wouldn't be possible.

They probably think the quasar is just painted on one of the crystal spheres...

Um...they're embedded in the aether? Either that, or happy thoughts a la Tinkerbell.

At least one poster on this thread, by all appearances.

My theory on General Relativity is that, simply put, if your parents didn’t have any kids, you won’t either.

No, I think it's satire - much like the flat earth society or the International Church of Satan.

Galileo was wrong and the Catholic Church right, but not for these crackpot reasons.

Relative to the Big Bang, wherever you are is the center of the universe and the edge of spacetime. Viewed one way, every direction you look, even across a room, is looking back in time. Looking in any direction at night, the Big Bang is 13.7 billion light years away and getting further away at nearly the speed of light. You, along with every other point in the universe, is exactly at the center of it. In other words, nothing has moved from the center since creation. Looked at from the Big Bang, everything is at the edge of a sphere of expanding space-time. There is no center of the edge of a sphere, but neither can you look at anything from the Big Bang without backward travel in the time dimension. It is just a 3D construct of 4 dimensions, replacing one of the spatial dimensions with time.

“Galileo was Wrong”.

So is the author/creator of this meeting, since there is no such thing as a “First Annual” anything! It can be the inaugural, but until there is a second event, it’s NOT annual!
