I'm thinking about moving to New Hampshire with the Free State movement (
1. Find a job there
2. Sell your house
3. Move
4. ??
5. Profit
Don’t. Stay where you are.
As far as I know, it’s pretty much of a lost cause: libs from Massachusetts are moving into NH a lot faster than Free Staters are.
I bought a house there before Fsp, within 2 years it was all democrats from MA so I just moved back to MA.
Dave’s not here.
I think as more and more Americans are fed up with the job n0bama is(n't) doing they will become more conservative like how the country became more liberal when everyone was mad at Bush. Just because a state may be liberal blue now doesnt mean theres no chance it will become conservative again.
The liberty movement has the courage most mainstream GOPers lack. They won seats in the NH state house and do more grassroots activism then both parties combined. I have yet to see a mainstream conservative group reach out to ppl the way the free state movement has.
For reference: Conservative free staters win while liberal free staters sink
Don’t worry about NH. Most of the people coming from MA moved here to escape the liberals in MA. In the elections, it has been the northern and western counties (they have more of the net-takers of society) that have gone Democrat. After this election, the two Congressmen will be Republican as well as Kelly Ayotte being Senator. Lynch (D) may be re-elected governor, but he has to run every two years. Shaheen is up in 2014...
Yes, they are escaping the consequences of what their previous voting pattern wrought. And they are bringing that voting pattern north with them.
freetalklive.com is streaming now from New Hampshire.

Actually about 800 FSPers are here, but only 200 of them care to get involved with conservative groups. In NH we have a large Tea Party full of conservatives/libertarians/independents/republicans. We have lots of new 912 and liberty groups and they are also working for the cause.
We are lucky in that all the conservative groups work together so well.
In 2006 the liberals took over the state in the ‘hate Bush’ wave... even though our local Republicans have kept NH solvent and prosperous and healthy for the last 80 years, and the safest place to live. However, now they have raised taxes almost 100 times and have given us a possible $800M deficit.
We are poised to take back the legislature hopefully in November.
But, if you move here, please, don’t join the group of FSPers who live in Keene and think smoking pot, getting arrested and harassing cops is the thing to do.
THAT is the freetalklive crowd, they are NON-voters, so they just enable the liberals. They think that getting arrested for driving without a license is ‘freedom’.... makes no sense...
Like I said if you move here, plan on joining some groups and actually DOING something please!
:-)
If I were to move to NH what towns would you suggest? I’ve heard Grafton and the area near the ocean/cost are the most full of liberty activists aside from Keene.
From a native NH Citizen, Stay where you are, it is that easy... Free Staters have been a useless pimple on NH’s back side. All about the mary jane, unschooling vs homeschooling and harassing the already over staffed local police departments, like that Ridley clown. Sorry keep the freak show elsewhere.
Not to long ago the un-offical NH State moto was “welcome to NH, now go home!” Unfortunately, NH citizen at that time understood it but, the unwashed usurpers did not, it was not followed up with an eye gouge or a muzzle strike. The consequences have been nothing short of devastating.
I live in a state thats been blue since forever. I think ur wrong about Free Staters. I think they have good potential to win back New Hampshire from statists/socialists and libs. Their pot and anti-police antics are a bit too far but I agree w/ going back to the constitution and ending mandatory taxes.
Bring LOTS of money...property taxes are among the highest in the nation, and it will cost you hundreds to register your vehicle if it is reasonably new. NH is loaded with lots of ‘friendly’ New Yorkers’, as well...
I stand by what has been written, the Free Stater crowd, 5% may get it, the rest are just “anti” everything including common courtesy and respect for the law. You are free to think what you want.
The unschoolers which are mostly free staters are poster children for the liberal government control everything crowd and the persistant mary jane issue is just a non-starter.
I thought unschoolers wanted to get rid of public government education.
You are correct, but that attitude of “we don’t want no rules” and the repeated cases of “unschoolers” showing up in the public system, way behind academically gives the government control liberals a ton of ammunition to regulate all homeschooling. Kinda like drunk drivers affecting all of the drivers especially insurance rates and government intrusions....
I recently met some 4-6th grade unschoolers and they were so far behind in all basic areas, I was just jaw dropped. When their mary jane addled parents divorce or seperate, the government school inherit these kids and then another administrator will testify in Concord how NH needs to control all homeschooling.
I am working over-time to educate the lawmakers about the difference between un-schooling vs home schooling. There will be a clear delination when I am done. Un-schoolers can suffer the consequences, the farther away our family is from that *hit-show the better.
