Harry Reid is from Nevada, so he’s familiar with gambling. Still, the Senate majority leader is taking a heck of a risk by asking his fellow Democrats to vote on an immigration bill so close to an election. Specifically, Reid said today he may attach the Dream Act to the defense reauthorization bill.

What’s the Dream Act? It is legislation to offer a citizenship to illegal immigrants

Good question. I suspect that there are legal immigrants in the military but no illegals. I can't imagine they would allow enlistment without checking.

Not so much illegals, but a number of troops are in the process of getting LEGAL citizenship. I know several who applied for citizenship and are serving around the world. That is why you see the large citizenship ceremonies in combat areas.

Keep in mind that these "immigrants" need a social security number to do all these presumably legitimate things, like go to college, work a job, or join the military. Where do these SS numbers come from?

So they're committing felonies by stealing or fabricating social security numbers and identities. And then they're rewarded for it. Unbelievable.

Your correct prescription for what ails us will never be willingly swallowed by the vast unwashed masses who have become accustomed to at least some “government compassion.” Even “conservatives” won’t swallow this bitter medicine, even when shown that it is the only way to cure a terminal illness.
