Smirnoff in a 2-litre box draws criticism Friday September 03 2010
DIAGEO's first ever roll out of Smirnoff pre-mixed drinks in 2-litre boxes has, as the company would have expected, drawn criticism from quarters that believe it encourages binge drinking.
Diageo launched the 'Signature Serves' range - Smirnoff Vodka & Ocean Spray Cranberry and Smirnoff Vodka & Blood Orange - last month in Australia. The boxes have an ABV of 6.4%, serve up to 10 'standard' drinks, and retail for AUD26.99 (USD24.75) per box.

Far more common than you may realize.
Texas.
I would imagine there are dry counties in several Southern states.
Better luck next year. It boggles my mind why anyone would vote for a dry county. I’d rather see my neighbors drive to the local stop&shop to buy their beer than driving to another county and drinking the purchased beer on the long drive home as they do.
Do these same pinheads bitch that Twinkies are sold in 12-packs?
Yeah, we have a large problem with wrecks driving to adjoining towns to buy booze. We have the same problem with wrecks to and from the Indian Reservations to gamble. I live about 5 miles from a reservation that had it’s gambling closed. Now we go to La. to gamble. Between gambling and drinking, there is no telling how much money is leaving the county.
For less than A$20, I can get port in a 2 liter box (28 standard drinks)
