And since we get most of our imported oil from Canada, this thread is idiotic.

Yep, it's just shy of 2-to-1 Canada-to-Saudi Arabia. Still, it would put an end to any fiendish Canadian plots to take over the United States and force us all to eat poutine and buy donuts at Tim Horton's.

I'm assuming there are such plots. If not, why not?

"I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave."

I guess their oil is the only POSSIBLE reason to shed American blood for these people. It begs a question: WHY THE HELL AREN’T WE USING OUR OWN?? ARE WE MAD? (Don’t answer that.)

Yeah, the Chinese and Indians will be more than glad to buy the oil we aren’t buying.

What a bunch of blind eyes herein. We’re only buying 1/3 of oil from our enemies... so we’re only sending them 50 billion dollars a day? Dumb talk. We should not be transferring _any_ wealth to foreign countries, esp. not our enemies. Someone show us the stats anyway, the history of it all. Trillions to fund RIP folks who now buy our very souls with some of the posters approvals.

Buying foreign oil is a national security issue, period. We should be using our own, only.

"Want to do something which would actually have a severe impact on all the lunatic regimes of the world and most of the lunatics? In fact, which would pretty much shut them all down permanently?"

Interesting concept, ranks up there with rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic for all the good it will do but Okey Dokey

Just so you know, we get very little of our oil from Islamic Swine. Most of it comes from Canada and Mexico. After that probably comes Venezuela.

I suggest you google a couple of phrases.

1. Money is fungible.

2. Oil is a commodity.

Agreed. Now people here are starting to think. The problem is they control our govt, courts and other institutions. They particularly control TV.

These enviro groups and the Dems block off Fed land is all for the Saudis, Kuwait, UAE, etc.

The mind control out there makes the book 1984 look simple.

Even if the feds wanted to, it would take many years to build up the drilling and refining infrastructure.

With the wrecking crew we have, I don't know if we have enough time...

Oil is 100% fungible. It's still worth doing.

Three simple words: Oil is fungible. Take the US out of the world market for oil and the price would totally collapse, along with all of the lunatic regimes. There is no case on the planet of a lunatic regime of any real size getting operational funding from anything BUT oil.

Yeah. Let's go back to candles and horses.

Who are you, Barack Obama?

Agreed. The avg person is confused and exhausted so they sit down to TV for more brainwashing of: moderate Islam, racist conservatives interlaced with dumb white man commercials.

7 million barrels at $80 would be $560 million a day.

We should be using our own, only.

Great idea. We could use the savings for better science and math education.

We have more than enough oil and natural gas for our own needs for hundreds of not thousands of years starting from now. Like I said, it would mess us up about as badly as we were messed up during WW-II for about a year, and it would mess up all of the world’s lunatic regimes permanently.

It would be insane to ban the importation of oil from Canada, not to mention illegal. The Democrats would love to do it, though.
