A TERRITORY girl is lucky to be alive after she was mauled by a savage dog.

Seven-year-old Meg Croton and her brother Connor, 9, had been feeding their family's dog - an eight-year-old mastiff cross - in their Humpty Doo back yard when the girl was attacked by the vicious hound.

"I tripped on a rock and fell, and I think I kicked his leg," Meg recalled the attack. "And then it hurt very badly and he was on top of me and ripped on my head. "But my brother saved my life."

When the still sea conspires an armor
And her sullen and aborted
Currents breed tiny monsters
True sailing is dead

I gotta admit, you seem like an expert in 'Longelegantleg's theory of dog picking'.

The first time I saw my Swiper ('Robert', at the time), he popped up into the viewing window at the pound, one foreleg on the window sill and ears cocked forward like "What's up, baby?"
We spent an hour with him and the kids in the 'visitor's pen', getting to know each other. Then we went home and waited for THREE WHOLE DAYS while I agonized over whether or not he was the right dog for us. I put a lot of thought into him, and he's paid off in spades.
Because I knew a bit about him before we brought him home, when I found out his ancestry (very scary at the time) I was willing to give him a chance, which led to a radical reorganization of my dog-related worldview. It's been quite a ride, and I have loved every minute of it.

That is flattering beyond anything I can possibly put into words! Thanks :-) I'm by no means an expert, I can only go off what I've done and recommend what's worked for me.
But thanks, you just made me happy for a week.

This can’t be true since chet99 knows that ONLY pit bulls attack humans.

And ALL pit bulls do. :-P

"Even Satan can quote the Bible."

Well, since things have slowed down a bit I think we can continue this discussion.

You say that Satan's words in Matthew 4: 6 are a verbatim quote of Psalm 91: 11-12

"It is the same. It is also the same in the Vulgate, Darby, NIV, KJV, NKJV and 30 other translations. Which anyone who has google or perhaps, as I, Logos International Software, can tell you. As can all the commentary tell you, the Devil may take it out of context, he may misapply it, but he does quote it with precision accuracy."

Let's look at the KJV, since it's the only version that I read.

Psalm 91: 11-12 -

"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone."

Compared to Mattew 4:6 -

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone."

Do you not see the discrepancy there, his omission, or do you mean that Satan was quoting with the same "precision accuracy" that he used when quoting Genesis 2:17 in Genesis 3:4?

~~~
God's word is the truth and it is just as impossible for Satan to accurately quote it as it is for God to tell a lie.
I grew up with a feller named Bill Blake who used to talk like that after a couple of bong hits.
You think it might be the same guy?
No. I did not.
Now you’ve got me even more ..... ummm ..... curious.
I know nothing of you except your screen name, the fact that your posts make sense to me, you’ve got a good nose for trolls and the like, and that my FRiends respect you.
Other than that, here’s what I know:
Then you’ve seen my Rocket, a bunch of silly stuff, and my cherubic, chubby-cheeked face. Oh, did you believe, “TheOldLady hasn’t created an about page?” As a member in good standing of Pimpbusters, you should know to look more carefully. ;-)
I’m 5’4” with a very large frame, but “big bones” can only take the excuses so far. Let’s just say that I’m zaftig times two or maybe three.
I keep forgetting where you are. As an aside, prayers for you. I hope you are coming home soon.
Thank you. That really is humbling and much appreciated.
I should be home for a substantial break in a couple of months and am I EVER looking forward to that.
Wow, what a great pic, but I'm not sure that's a dog. It has a huge sense of presence about it, like it's a sentient being from another planer posing as a dog. Don't be surprised if it starts speaking to you or if it invents an anti=gravity device.
Seriously, it looks like a great dog and obviously is a member of your family. Kid ain't bad either. :-)
To: Markos33
Hello Markos33,
While you say the only translation you have is a KJV bible, that is not true. You are on line, thus you have ALL the other translations. You may not have a specialized software program which can show the translations and their errors as well, but it can get you close.
You will notice that I specified the Septuagint translation for a reason. Actually for several reasons.
First, English is an evolving language. Greek is not. Greek is a mathematical language which is the most hardened calculated precision language in the history of the world, unless you count computer languages.
This is why I use Greek whenever anyone, usually skeptics, will say the Bible has contradictions. The Greek, which IS the bible used by Jesus in his time. Is both old enough to have been in use hundreds of years before He was born, and has remained unchanged for the last 2,500 years.
While there ARE differences between the Hebrew and Greek, those differences are INFERRED. They have to be. The Ancient Hebrew alphabet did not have the concept of vowels. Thus, with consonants only, you needed to either previously know the context or agree upon the context to be sure what words, in the more complex arrangements are meant.
The most argued word comes from Genesis: HTH. or HYTH. Depending on which version of Hebrew one considers. That one word can mean “was” “was then” was made” “became” “was to”. Both past, future and transitional.
You may or may not have ever heard of this word. But you have heard ALL about the debate it has caused for the last 100+ years. Evolution.
And the earth HTH or HYTH without form and void.
Yeah, young earth, old Earth, Gap theory, and Evolution ALL claim that THEIR translation is correct. Guess what. They all have points FOR and AGAINST them.
So, to your general thesis that Satan Misquotes the Bible.
He does not. He quotes it exactly but out of context. If he misquoted it, Christ would have corrected him on the spot. Thing of the woman at the well. She misspoke and Christ corrected her. Peter? Get they behind me Satan! He does not sit well with folks who get out of line.
Yet, with Pilate, who said “I have the power to free you” Christ only said, what power you have came from heaven.
But again, he did not let it go.
The Devil quoted and Jesus quoted. Jesus quoted a COUNTER passage IN context, showing the Devil his error in CONTEXT. He did not rebuke him.
THAT is more evidential than the Greek or Hewbrew, although, I did post the letters. letter by letter and you can count them off. I even told you HOW to cut and paste them into MS Word and change them to their ASCII format to better see for yourself they are exact.
Go to BlueLetterBilbe dot com. You can see them all side by side there. Cut and paste for yourself.
As for Genesis. Satan was NOT “quoting it”. He was outright LYING about it. That is a difference.
He CAN lie. He is the father of all lies. But when he quoted it to God, he quoted it to God. He can do either for you or for I.
So, let me ask. Have you been taught or have some reason, ulterior, to believe that he cannot “quote” it? Or is this just a “disagree with this girl” thing?
I ask, because of course, the Word of God is inexhaustible. We could go so deep into just this one section, because it will relate to some other. When I keep my journal, I find that most times, some point or debate which was held 10 years ago, suddenly comes up again under a point I never thought was related the first go around. And I wonder often why or how I missed that proof as well.
So, I add all these types of exchanges to my notes. And I am just wondering if you ARE a serious student, or if you were just picking a fight because that’s what this thread HTH.
= D
It was not badass; it was purely survival instinct. The owner could not pull him off me and the dog was on top of me - tearing at me. There was no thought involved in shooting it.
In other news, when I was twenty, I just about killed a man in Philadelphia who tried to pull me into an alley to rape me. I was only armed with what my dad taught me in self defense and spiked heels. It was a bloody mess. I have no idea why that energy kicks into gear within me when I have needed it.
The good news is my husband is not a wife beater.;)
