A TERRITORY girl is lucky to be alive after she was mauled by a savage dog.
Seven-year-old Meg Croton and her brother Connor, 9, had been feeding their family's dog - an eight-year-old mastiff cross - in their Humpty Doo back yard when the girl was attacked by the vicious hound.
"I tripped on a rock and fell, and I think I kicked his leg," Meg recalled the attack. "And then it hurt very badly and he was on top of me and ripped on my head. "But my brother saved my life."

Statiically speaking, older dogs make better adoption candidates than puppies.
Shelters know this based on “return rates” yet short-sighted people generally go for that “cute lil’ puppy” while some nice, well mannered, already house-trained, socialized and often, obedience trained older dog gets the gas chamber.

Esperanto, why don’t you come to your senses,
Come down from your fences,
Open the gate,
You may be dreamin’,
But there’s a rainbow above you.....

"Would you like to READ my comments or just join the dog pile of stink along with your comrades?"
Obviously I can't answer for Sal, but I think it's more challenging to post without reading the comments.
As far as the dogpile goes, their stink is all over me already.

I was not “quoting” Shakespeare... I was using the same source as he, in my own phrase of it: Socrates!
But then, as with most “party crashers” you have not come for the debate of the subject, but the sport of the hunt. Many against the one.
And no, I don’t mean You and Me. YOU have not yet offered substance of the debate. Why would you think I was speaking of or about you?
Everyone else, most of the sane, abandoned this thread hours ago and wished me good luck if I stayed to deal with a group of folks to which they obviously have had more than one brushing.
I do not care. If you debate the issues, I will as well. If you are here only for spoils, so be it. I know how to deal with that as well.
I hope you are entertained.

Actually, a good personal protection Dobe is nearly silent.
You’ll never hear it coming.
An alarm/alert Dobe will bark but not excessively or needlessly.
Go to YouTube and type “Doberman stalking” and you will see many examples of their “technique”.
That is why the Marine Corps chose them as war dogs.
They alerted their “family” silently, so as not to reveal their position to the enemy and silently took out the enemy, when necessary.
The enemy dreaded and feared them.
Google “Devil Dogs”.
They are only “hyper” if, as a _working dog_, they have no “job” to do.

Good call, brother.
Dog acts weird? Listen and look.
They don’t act strange unless there is something strange.

I retract my previous speculation of Esperanto. I am now having more than one thinking of the source phrasing the using of which is your habituation of it.
