SPRINGFIELD — Effingham County sheriff deputies have reported the early Sunday morning arrest of three men to the federal Joint Terrorism Task Force.

The men, two from Russia and one from Kazakhstan, were found near Georgia Power’s Plant McIntosh on Old Augusta Road about 1 a.m. Sunday after a ranger with the Department of Natural Resources reported a suspicious vehicle, Effingham County sheriff’s spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.

Good points all! They were living in Charleston SOUTH CAROLINA. This is no copper wire deal. More snippets:

“Deputies reported the men, who were inside a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, had a machete, shovel, wire cutters and ski masks. One man also had black silk stockings in his front left pocket.”

Do you really need a machete to steal copper wire or to chop heads off?

That power station supplies power to A LOT of important stuff nearby, INCLUDING Ft. Stewart, largest active military reservation east of the Mississippi.

Yeah, besides, Georgia is full of Tea Party conservative cracka bitter clingers.

They have enough "light". Time to be ruled by the "dark".

A little bit more info...
3 arrested outside Effingham power plant
Deputies were called out to the plant because of a suspicious SUV parked there. When they arrived, they found three men sitting inside...
Snip...There are still a lot of questions about what they were doing there in the first place. They told deputies they were lost.

I guess it was just too much for MSM reporter DeAnn Komanecky and any of the editors at Savannah Now to take the 60 seconds required to look up Fort Stewart, or chase down Islamic connections, or chase down the homeland security aspects of this case, and write about it in her article.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/facility/fort-stewart.htm

“Fort Stewart is ideally situated and resourced to support the training and deployability requirements of the 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized). The reservation
‘s 280,000 acres provide the division’s soldiers unequaled training opportunities. Stretching over five counties, Fort Stewart is the largest installation east of the Mississippi River. The reservation can accommodate training for 50,000 reserve component soldiers annually. ....

“In August 1990, Iraq invaded and overran neighboring Kuwait and threatened to do the same to Saudi Arabia. The Port of Savannah worked around the clock to load and ship the Division’s heavy equipment, while aircraft shuttles from Hunter Field flew the Division’s personnel to Saudi Arabia. Within a month the entire Division had been reassembled in Saudi Arabia to face the possible invasion of that country by Iraqi forces. Fort Stewart saw a growing influx of National Guard and Reserve units who were being mobilized to support the operations in Saudi Arabia and to assume the tasks at the post which had formerly been accomplished by Division personnel. In many ways, Fort Stewart appeared to be almost a ghost town, as never before has the entire Division been deployed from the post at one time. Within eight months the crisis in the Persian Gulf had concluded and the 24th Infantry Division triumphantly returned to its home in coastal GA.”

Could somebody here simply call up the Department of Natural Resources, Effingham County Sheriff's Department, and ask if they gleaned the religious preferences of these nice boys from Russia and Kazakhstan?

And then report your findings to DeAnn Koomanecky and her editorial staff at Savannah Now?

Отечественные террористы. Находиться в партии чая.

That's probably the way the administration would like to spin it.

Arrested were Evgeniy Luzhetskiy, of Kazakhastan Nail Idiatullin and Rustem Ibragimov of Russia.

The last two are Tatars. Most Tatars are Muslims.

But I don't think their religion had anything to do with this. They probably don't believe in any supreme being anyway. They were just trying to steal something.

I only knew a couple of words, but it seemed to translate as “Domestic Terrorists” and something about Tea Party. My Russian is very rusty.

Patriotic terrorists located in the tea party. Отечественные = patriotic Terrorists is a cognate. Находиться в партии чая = located in the party of tea.
