During the five terms of the FDR and Truman presidencies, the Democrats did not propose any civil rights legislation. President Dwight Eisenhower, in contrast, asked his Attorney General to write the first federal civil rights legislation since the Republican Partys 1875 Civil Rights Act.
On this day fifty-three years ago, President Eisenhower signed the 1957 Civil Rights Act into law. Many Democrats in the Senate filibustered the bill, but strong Republican support ensured passage. Score one for America!

Of course, Dems mistakenly believe they invented civil rights legislation. Sort of like Al Gore and the Internet.
Really doesn’t matter. Black folk made their deal with the federal devil in 1965. They have suffered for it ever since, and have become a permanent underclass - just like the old days.
Now that’s a pity. But that’s the way they wanted it.
The Democrat Party was the Party of Slavery at its founding 200 years ago, and remains the Party of Slavery today.
At its founding, members of the Democrat Party used people of African ancestry on Southern planations to convert cotton seeds into cotton bales.
Today, members of the Democrat Party use people of African ancestry on Urban plantations to convert (other people’s) money into votes.
Why excerpt?

There was a post earlier today about all who use FaceBook being narcissistic and self centered, etc. Well, FB is a great tool for communicating things like this article. You would be amazed how many people will click on a link to an article I post on my "Wall", but would never come to the FreeRepublic because they consider this site "too conservative." FreeRepublic even has its own FaceBook page, too. I find it's a great tool for spreading information that most liberals would never see in the newspapers they read, or the networks they listen to...because they do read posts on FaceBook that are from friends. Use the tools available...it can help.
One of the biggest mistakes in American history.
Thank you. Since writing Back to Basics for the Republican Party a decade ago I’ve been trying to show Republicans that they should appreciate the true heritage of the GOP and the Democratic Party.
Fighting the good fight,

You say that, yet you obviously remain enslaved to some evil entity that forces you to excerpt.

Who is this evil entity which pimps your writing? We shall together defeat them!
SCOTLAND FOREVER!
“Boy, posting this on my FaceBook page is going to get some people’s blood boiling....Use the tools available...it can help.”
Be careful with what you post ... I am not going to debate it, just a friendly warning. Getting blood boiling is a good thing if it is righteous, but not just for the sake of doing it. A Partisan is a partisan and sometimes has a blind eye ... which, in the case of the GOP, could be pretty awful, as we have seen from some of the “strategy” being employed by the brain trust of Steele and Company ... there are not a few who are offended by the new GOP “Southern Strategy” and historical omissions and misstatements. Just an opinion.
