Last year FR had a large presence at the march on DC. The pleasure was mine to meet Jim Rob...or was it Jim Johnson? It was a hugh and series moment I will not forget.
At any rate, I will be hosteled at the Sheraton National, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Any FReepers going, give me a shout.
So many marches, so little time and money!
Believe me, I can’t afford it, but I feel no choice but to lobby the politicians face to face. I don’t go just to be a face in the crowd, I hit the office buildings, and I don’t care if they are my Senator, or Rep; I tell them how I feel, how the American Citizen feels.
This 111th is killing my retirement. I really cannot afford to hit DC every quarter, but I have.
Been to DC several times in protest during the current ObamaNation administration, and once for a Global Warming briefing at the Dirksen Senate Building. Most recently for Beck’s Restoring Honor. Gotta stay local for this one, though. Thanx for holding down the fort for those of us who won’t be there this time.
I would have went to Becks’ rally, but I had to “keep the powder dry” for a political rally. I fear that Beck will kill the numbers for 9/12.
Keep the faith!
BS
Glad you can make it for this weekend.
Maybe we will meet at the events. Look for the DC Chapter!
I’ll be there.
WE THE PEOPLE do not have to have a ‘star’ to get us to stand up for America or to show up for a TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY rally.
I reckon you're right if I'm any measure. Guarantee I'd be back for this year's 9/12 except for having just been there.
Yeah, and I was there (at Beck’s rally) and was really a waste of time, IMO, he should have kept it political.
So you tell your representatives what you "feel"...or is it you tell their secretaries what you "feel" and hope they will pass your message along?
I've been traveling from Texas to DC at least once a year, and usually several times each year since I first started freeping and had my eyes opened
.IMHO, these huge gatherings of the populace on the mall are doing more to shake up our congresscritters than anything I've ever seen.
I hope more and more people put on rallies, and more and more people attend them. I think we've got them running scared now, and that we need to keep the pressure on them.
It's just that most of us can't make it ever time.
“So you tell your representatives what you “feel”...or is it you tell their secretaries what you “feel” and hope they will pass your message along?”
basil, I don’t know what you will be doing Monday morning, but I will be crawling the halls of Cannon, and Hart, not talking to secretaries. I will be talking to congresscritters.
I appreciate your travels, and perhaps we can do it together, as I live in Benton, LA, 30 miles away from the Great State of Texas.
