If this true about Mark Dayton and his out of state trust funds, it sure appears as though he's trying to avoid paying taxes. This would make him quite hypocritical given his "Let's Raise Taxes On The Rich" plan he's been espousing.
OTOH, if it is true that Dayton no longer has these out of state trusts, it could make the state GOP look like it's wildly swinging away, trying to land a blow.

Isn’t it funny how Democrats are always happy to evade the taxes they insist you and I must pay?

The GOP used details from the former U.S. senator's federal disclosure forms to document the family trusts in South Dakota, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. Dayton may have moved the money now, but not too many years ago he was using an army of lawyers to avoid Minnesota taxes all while advocating raising taxes on everyone else.

If Dayton gets elected and enacts his millionaires tax, watch Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins players stash their assets in tax havens just like Dayton. South Dakota will also continue to welcome Minnesota tax refugees.
