Why do these articles keep getting banned and deleted on FR?
I don't understand how this breaks any of the rules here...have our moderators been inflitrated with Progressives, Marxists?
Is FR seeing its final days?
Sometimes it’s done very subtly, with the provoker studiously avoiding directly addressing the victim and carefully avoiding directly attacking them.
Heck a really sneaky one might even offer up advice on how to proceed.
An evil one might be unable to resist coming back to gloat and tell the rest of us how very very virtuous that are...
I remember that on that thread several posters kept asking him to show proof that he was in Kenya...passport stamps, dinner receipts, etc.
Lucas explained that his attorney told him not to divulge anything. He repeated this quite a few times but they kept on him. To me, it seemed they knew they’d struck a nerve with him. At some point (don’t remember) he became unglued and was banned.
Anyway, that’s how I remember it.
I remember when that all happened.

I was there when it happened. It was a circling pack, baiting him.
I advised him to ignore the attempts to provoke him, too.
The provokers I just ignore. The usual gang weren’t all on that thread but quite a few were.

The post was to you and DJ MacWoW. You suggested to DJ MacWow that Smith was “provoked.” DJ MacWoW said Smith was baited. He wasn’t provoked, poked, or baited. Smith went on the attack and got himself banned.
I agree. I really don’t know what to think but he did say he would submit to a polygraph. If I was a scammer, I would never agree to take one.
I don’t think I posted on that thread. By the time I got to read it, Lucas was already gone. I kept thinking to myself that he’s being baited and he’s going to get banned but he kept responding to them. They’re not worth a response.
I don’t bait birthers. I debate them. There’s a difference. I rarely post on those threads myself anymore.

Yes. He has said and done as much as his lawyer will allow. I like Lucas. But I don’t know what to think. He’s young. He may be maturing and learning. Sometimes growth comes out of stupidity. And who else but a scammer could pull something like this off? I just don’t know.

It may have been a question, but there was still an implied opinion (or impression or interpretation). Either way, Smith wasn’t poked or provoked or baited. After he was banned, he went straight to altfreerepublic and started a thread about how he was wronged by Free Republic (and me in particular,) to which their mod replied that the site wasn’t to be used to bash FR.
