My experience wit the Pit Bulls I have known is they would probably love you to death.
Previous owner ran out of cats...
Pits don't have locking jaws.
Just some old BS wives tale.
She shut the dog in the shed.
~~~
Shot the dawg in the head ?,,,No wait...
In other news, 6,783,371 American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers, American Bulldogs, Alapaha (Georgia) Blue-blood Bulldogs and Olde English Bulldogges ... bit nothing more than Milkbone biscuits on this day in history.
This is impossible because pit bulls were bred to be such nice friendly doggies.
Oh, wait......
That's a pit full of bull.
They are fearless, and genetically inclined toward deadly aggressiveness if something trips their trigger.
It probably would not be a bad idea, as a public service, to develop statistics...with pictures of mauled children's faces...to substantiate the public risk the breed presents and require that owners register them with acknowledgment of the breed's history, and pay a fee for a special license.
Maybe even require owners to carry liability insurance.
I'm a dog lover, but Pit Bulls are a menace to society.
“He never did that before.”
It’s too bad, these people thought they were doing a good thing, only for it to come back and bite them.
Seriously, they were trying to help a neglected dog. Shelter probably should not have let it up for adoption so soon.
When I was a teen working at KFC a friend of mine got a PB puppy.
The pup LOVED the taste of the chicken fat/shortening on my shoelaces. The little guy demanded that I give up my shoes to him and he even bit me as I pushed him away from my foot.
It was a cute scene but if that dude was 80+ lbs instead of 3....
It was a realization for me that these doggies are a “special breed”.
“...as he was trying to keep the family cat away from the dog...”
Never get between a dog and his food.
Did I hear that right, he’s got this cat, and then he adopted a pit bull ... and there was a problem? OK, I understand.
terrible breed of dog, not suited for anyone. I have had a variety of terriers for the last 30 years, they are tough enough to handle, but not deadly and of no harm to humans. Pit Bulls are bad, they are bred to maim, and they attract owners that are frequently not good people.
