Ayn Rand: Goddess of the Great Recession

This past spring, the Financial Industry Inquiry Commission held hearings on the world's recent financial crisis. The star witness was Alan Greenspan. The Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan translated Greenspan's typically elusive testimony this way: "I didn't do anything wrong, and neither did Ayn Rand by the way, but next time you might try more regulation."
There were obviously many reasons for the Great Recession. But I believe Noonan got to the root of one particular evil.
Fortune magazine once labeled Greenspan "America's most famous libertarian, an Ayn Rand acolyte." (While Rand formally rejected libertarianism, libertarians nonetheless admire her.) But today, both libertarians and Randians are disassociating themselves from Greenspan as quickly as Wall Street.

That passage is widely (and I believe correctly) understood as a typical parable told by Jesus, which were metaphors. He’s not talking about money. He’s talking about his disciples spreading the kingdom of God. If you find God, and keep it hidden, you are not spreading the Gospel. If you bring others to God, you have done well.

where did Rand ever reject morality? "Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values." --Ayn Rand
How many times will you dance around it?

So taxes are always immoral? Are they taken under the threat of force? If so, then they are. If not, they're not.
Ditto capital punishment?
Even you're not that stupid narses....

You mean like Ted Bundy? He was serving his own happiness, unconcerned with the welfare of his victims. The perfect "Objectivist."

"Amorality is morality. IOW, "Objectivism." -----
I don't consider myself a full-fledged obectivist. But when you make a comment like this, those who know something about objectivism become aware that you spout opinions about things of which you are clearly ignorant.
Just an FYI.

When you continullay use one quote as a basis for your perception, however ridiculously incorrect, of an entire school of philosophy, it's time to stop posting.
Read some of Rand's work, specifically the part about using physical force on others:
Whatever may be open to disagreement, there is one act of evil that may not, the act that no man may commit against others and no man may sanction or forgive. So long as men desire to live together, no man may initiatedo you hear me? no man may startthe use of physical force against others.
I realize that you probably posses the (liberal) type of intellect that believes whoever has the last word somehow wins the argument no matter how utterly incorrect they are or how idiotic they sound, so I'm done with you. Stop embarrassing yourself and this website.

DR I simply have to say that Mojave is either being deliberately obtuse or he's simply completely full of black hole dense stupid.
My bet's on the latter.

You can’t fix stupid, except through education, and this person is apparently unwilling or unable to educate themselves. Have a great night!

Actually, He was teaching about stewardship and the responsibility that goes along with it. The interesting part is that the servant who buried his talent had an incorrect perception of what the Master is really like. Yet even with his incorrect perception, he still acted foolishly in regard to it.
God wants us to be good stewards of what he has placed in our charge, for He is the Master. Bottom line.
