I think in the case of the Philippine Airlines (all seem to have landed on the list on the same day) it might be fear of competition. The Euro’s want that market to themselves.

BTW I felt a lot less secure on Kuwait Air but its not on the list, it delivers alot of Philippine workers to the Middle East and Europe

The Philippines airlines are blacklisted because the airports have outdated radar equipment and they haven’t upgrade to international standards. The blacklist has to do with their version of the FAA. There are politicians there who don’t want to make a significant our chase like that unless they get a kickback.
