STATESVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a man who was waiting with several friends for a "ghost train" from a North Carolina legend was killed when a real train came down the tracks.
Iredell County Sheriff Phil Redmond says 29-year-old Christopher Kaiser of Charlotte was killed about 2:45 a.m. Friday as he waited with friends at a railroad trestle. Redmond says witnesses said about 12 people were on the trestle hoping to see a ghost train when the real train rounded a bend......

Where I grew up we had a similar legend about a train that had gone off a trestle during the War between the Stated killing the Yankee soldiers an board. Supposedly if you were there on the anniversary date at the correct time that it happened you could hear the wreck and the screams.
LOL Let’s drive out in the country on a deserted road to see if we can hear the ghost train. Yeah right. Good pick-up line, huh fellas?
