What started as a walk to the park with his dogs ended with a trip to the hospital for a Denver dog owner. 32-year-old Mark Ashford says he was beaten black and blue by two Denver Police officers.
"They punched him and pinned him up against the fence and forced his head into the concrete." Ashford's attorney, Will Hart, said the beating that was caught on camera is a clear case of Excessive More..Force. "This happened when he was walking his dogs, he has a conversation with another citizen that the police officer doesn't like and as a result, he ends up in the hospital," said Hart.
Hart says Mark Ashford was walking his dogs near 20th and Little Raven in LoDo, when he saw police pull over a driver for failing to stop at a stop sign. Ashford told the driver he saw him stop and would be willing to testify in court. Hart says the officer overheard him and "wasn't very happy."
That's when Ashford says the Denver police officers demanded his I.D. and detained him. Ashford tried to take a picture of the officers to document the incident, and a few second later he was on the ground.
Police charged Ashford with interference and resisting arrest. Hart says, the charges were later dropped because the officers violated Ashford's 4th amendment rights, "they had no reason to stop him, take his ID or detain him.
An Excessive Force complaint was filed against both officers involved. A Denver police spokesperson says the internal affairs department has completed its investigation, but they are now turning the case over to the independent police monitor. Police won't say if the officers were disciplined in any way until the investigation is complete
Suprised the dogs weren’t killed also. That is the usual M.O.
No, if it was a black guy they’d be screwed.
Half way through the video, watch the poor little dog stand right in front of his owners head, as the officer is mashing this guys head into the concrete with his knee.
Wow...The little dog is doing what he can trying to help the dog owner by standing right in front of his head.
How messed up would it be if the dog tried to protect the owner and then they shot the dog!
Well, that is what the man is claiming occurred.
Watch the video, the man was up on the sidewalk and the cops walked over to him.
Stepping into the middle of it and basically inferring that the cops were lying was not a good plan.
Where are you seeing that?
That is not what I saw. I saw the cops walk up to the citizen who was standing on the sidewalk.
Well?
Actually a Federal Grand Jury should be convened to indict these cops under 18USC242. Google it up and learn how these cops could easily be sentenced to life terms.
A motorist was pulled over for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign. Dog walker tells the motorist he saw them stop and will testify to that end...It then appears the cops walk up onto the sidewalk where dog walker is standing, and proceed to beat him into the ground.
I made a Word Doc that you can download and print to carry with you.

All cops are thugs, ping.
I watched this and see that one of the ‘abusive’ cops is an older woman! She didn’t actually do anything. Just stood around while the other cop beat that guy. Also curious that the dogs didn’t even help the guy out!
Well done.
Geez the cop knees him in the nads....no reason for any of this, except that the cop is angry. I would like to know what the rest of their shift was like, and if he has any kids!
Actually, that is what the entire political class wants.
The hiring of thugs then giving them more pay than they would ever get in their lifetime doing anything they were actually capable of, and also giving them a free hand to satiate their thug egos by allowing them to terrorize the citizenry.
The politicians want to suppress the serfs (citizens) and making sure the police are corrupted into a brute squad furthers their agenda.
That was how it was reported verbally by the broadcaster.
Watch the little dog half way through the video, stand right in front of his owners face and his head is pushed into the concrete by the officers knee....The little dog didn't know what else to do...
It seems to be getting harder and harder to remain pro-law enforcement....
Idiot.

You should watch the video.
The dog walker did not walk into the middle of anything. The cops walk towards the dog walker, who is clearly up on the sidewalk, and no where near a citizens receiving a ticket.
The beating was subsequent, and did not start until after that, when the cops clearly walked towards dog walker who was up on the sidewalk, when he was attacked.
Everyone on here needs to look up and be familiar with SAF.
DETENTION
The police are only allowed to detain citizens when there are “specific and articulable facts supporting suspicion” (SAF) that you are involved in criminal activity.
This means they can’t detain you on a “hunch.” They must have observed something about your behavior or character that links you with specific criminal activity. If you are detained without SAF, you are detained illegally. If this matter ever lands in court, you may be able to get off because the original detention on their part was illegal.
When you use terms like “detention” and “specific and articulable facts, the officer will usually back down a bit. The majority of a police officers power in the united states comes from intimidation and prey on the publics ignorance of its own rights.
It is crucial that you let the officer know that you are not consenting to talk with him and that the only way you will talk to him is if he detains you which he can not do without SAF.
