Another idiot who’s going to have talked himself into prison. The correct answer when one finds oneself in front of Congress is “I respectfully assert my 5th Amendment rights” followed by “have a nice day you a**holes”.

Wittingly or not, you just nailed it didn’t you. Distraction is such a lovely game... Better to have people thinking of this don’t you know.

Every single day since this country's founding over 200 years ago, there has been "serious sh!t" going on somewhere. There will always be "serious sh!t" going on in this country.
If you are unable to multitask and process the big things and the little things, bummer.
In the scheme of things, this is more important than some of the other crap that people get riled about. Lying under oath is not something we need to encourage. It could and would undermine our whole legal system if we allow it to go unchecked, whether it's some junkie in court on drug possession charges or a baseball player in front of Congress.
If people aren't willing to respect the fact that they are under oath, then they need a reality check. We especially don't need our children thinking "why are all these adults telling us we aren't supposed to lie when these rich athletes can get away with it?"
