LOS ANGELES (AFP) Zsa Zsa Gabor, the 93-year-old Hollywood star who had been hospitalized due to complications from a broken hip, refused a new operation and was released from hospital and allowed to go home, her publicist has said.
John Blanchette said doctors were ready to perform a liver operation, but gave up on the idea after the actress insisted she wanted to return to her Bel Air home...

Can't say I blame Gabor in the least. I hope she finds peace and comfort in the time she has left.

Can't say I blame Gabor in the least. I hope she finds peace and comfort in the time she has left Yep -- she was iconic and left her mark on modern culture. If I was pretty sure the Grim Reaper was at my back, I would do exactly as she has and invite him in with my loved ones around me in my comfortable home.
It may be a few years hence (I hope) but I will follower Zsa Zsa's example if I can.

Zsa Zsa Gabor was famous for what? Being married a lot? Kiddng aside, sometimes a person has to decide when enough is enough. May God bless her.

My Grandmother was a very good, devout woman... she told me when I was a young girl that Zsa Zsa was a "home-wrecker".
(I think my Memere was right).

My Father passed away on June 18th. He was at home and refused to go to the hospital. The doctors said he actually passed more peacefully at home than he would have with tubes and other treatments tormenting him.

My mom did the same thing.
She said “no more hospitals.”
She died peacefully in her bed with her family around her.

My great-aunt, too. She got tired of going to dialysis four times a week, and when they recommended it go daily, she said no to the whole thing.
She never learned to drive(!?), so she always took the bus. I can’t even imagine the pain and tiredness she went through. Sometimes, enough is enough.

I remember Zsa Zsa in Gigi, where she wore that beautiful Pansy dress by I think, Cecil Beaton.
I looked for a picture but couldn’t find it.
I always thought Zsa Zsa was bipolar or something. But she sure knew how to make the most out of what she had. She was a beautiful woman, if crazy.

Found my favorite movie clip of her. For those who don’t know her, she is in the “pansy” dress with Louis Jourdan.
Cecil Beaton’s costumes were incredible. He did both Gigi and My Fair Lady, and the costumes have become iconic.

OMG! Queen of Outer Space. How did I ever miss that classic? I bet Zsa-Zsa's Venusian accent was increadable.
