A new study may help explain it. Men who earn significantly less than their female partners, or who earn nothing, are far more likely to cheat than those in relationships where incomes are more or less equal, the study found.
In fact, men who were completely dependent on their partner's income were five times more likely to cheat than men who contributed an equal amount of money to the relationship, according to research presented at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.
You’d think such men wouldn’t want to risk their meal ticket. But lower-earning men may be self-medicating their inner macho guy, says Cornell University sociology graduate student Christin Munsch, who conducted the study.

Easy to explain.
Women that are driven to earn big bucks and go after careers do so because they look down on women that let men take care of them financially. Then when these women get a man that makes less than they do, they naturally start looking down on the man same way they already do with women.
Men can’t live like that.
If he feels like his woman isn’t impressed, eventually he will bump into a woman that IS impressed with him and one thing leads to another.

No matter how hot she is, somewhere there’s a guy who’s tired of putting up with her sh!t. I know this from experience. Of couese, in Halle Berry’s case it might take a little longer...

My guess would be that a lot of these men have more free time than average.
