Just wondering - does anyone here watch Haven?

Taking a break from political stuff for a minute. What do you think of the show in general and did you like last night's episode?

PETA would have been proud of it. Maybe they had a hand in writing it. Stuffed people walking around? That was just laughable.

Aside from football, baseball, shows on Fox News, and the occasional other program (Monster Quest, some other assorted Discovery, TLC, and History channel stuff) I don’t watch TV.

We’ve enjoyed Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, Eureka, Haven, and Warehouse 13.

I’m 76 and have seen much of what was once called “entertainment”... I have several good friends who are members of this group... professional television actors and actresses The current state of the T.V. industry is far less than pathetic. The inane story lines, the writing, the alleged “acting”, the mere fact that, and I’m sure you’ll agree, when the script runs out of “dialogue”, the writers attempt to salvage it with 1. A car chase in which between 50 and 100 cars are totally destroyed, 2. A major gunfight ensues rivaling one of the more serious Pacific theater fire fights the U.S. military encountered in W.W. 2. or, and most likely 3. People jump into bed... sometimes one each of each gender, or perhaps more recently, 2 of the same gender, or even three of all genders, and in some cases race could be a factor.
I watched this new TV presentation known as “Haven” and was completely unimpressed, and not surprised. If I could I would give it 5 “thumbs down” I would... Don’t waste your valuable time watching this rot.....

LOL! Me too, and I have a blank TV screen most of the time.

I watched a few minutes of it. Unfortunately it’s the same infantile B-movie trash that’s becoming standard there.

I’m unimpressed too and agree with you about the other things you mentioned.
But there’s something about a mystery such as Haven that keeps me tuned in. I want to know why this little town is the way it is. Luckily, wikipedia can fill in the gaps for me.

i too enjoy eurek, wharhouse 13, and haven. eureka is just fun and i like the characters in haven. i sometimes think people, myself included, can read too much into some things like looking for an agenda in every episode of every tv show. i watch shows to enjoy some mindless fun and watch how the characters develop and interact. if i want to stare at a screen and really think, i play computer wargames or climb into an alternate universe with stargate, babylon 5, or farscape on dvd.

i also watch bones, big bang theory, ncis, castle and just got into burn notice which, again, is about the character interaction.

I liked it when it first started, but each episode gets sillier. Last night’s was over the top TWADDLE. No sign of Duke, who adds a lot of interesting tension. I will probably stay with it, but if it doesn’t get some better scripts, I’m gone.

I watched it and it was fun. I like SyFy productions when every other channel is ridiculous. There is a plot there in the script. I also love Ghost Whisperer starring Jennifer Love Hewett. (Is she the wife of Hugh Hewett?). The things on SyFy provoke thought and relax me.

The only production they have I turn off is those people chasing ghosts around.

Copy that. Duke needs to be around more.
