On his website, this psychologist has taken apart other fake studies slandering conservatives in well written analysis that help me rebut lefties. This is the first study I have seen focusing on hard lefties as 'superior' beings.

I have a business degree, could join MENSA tomorrow and was in military intelligence. I never met a liberal in intelligence, except for some CIA Ivy League types. Ain’t buyin’ it!

Heh, funny is what comes to mind. If liberals are smarter, then many questions come to mind and their answers have not been intelligent nor smart... Seems to me that maybe smart is not the answer, but maybe intelligence. That would put the general populace ahead of these elitists.

“Are liberals more intelligent than conservatives.”
No, but judging from the state of the country, ignorance is winning.

In any quantitative study of this type, the truth is in the internals. For example, are not the younger respondents both more liberal and more intelligent than older respondents? If so, this would reflect long-standing differentials measured in the U.S. population at large.

But how would those of the same age and opposite political attitude compare in terms of IQ? More to the point, how would the IQs of those older citizens who report shifting to the left or right compare?

As many have speculated, I believe that if you have any wits at all, you will move to the right as you age. However, it might be really informative to note whether stupid folks move left as they get older.

Such an obverse hypothesis would make sense, given the likely expectation of dependancy (on Social Security and the like) which is almost sure to be more common among the intellectually impoverished...

This study is complete BS, but it hardly matters. One can also have great intelligence and still have poor judgement. The two aren’t synonymous.

I do think the most ‘intelligent’ liberals have to work hard to intellectually justify their positions... always too busy counting the trees to see the forest.

I have a double degree in Chemistry and Mathematics and graduated Summa Cum Laude (3.96 GPA) with my Masters. I work for one of the leaders in the high tech industry and have won my company's most distinguished award several times. I chew liberal intellects up like cannon fodder and spit them out. I find so-called liberal intellectuals to be childish and thin skinned with extremely fragile egos. Their thought processes are usually not well developed, shallow and totally lacking in practicality and wisdom.

I think the guy is right. Sorry, but in my experience, it’s true. Make a list of the great minds of our time, the true intellectuals, and you’ll be forced to agree.

Of course, being intelligent doesn’t make a person right. It simply means they are better at reasoning. American liberals (”conservatives”) of the Rush Limbaugh/Sarah Palin/NASCAR variety tend to be suspicious of reasoning, and of educated people. It’s a cultural thing. This is not a criticism; it’s an observation.

Perhaps someday a true American, intellectual Conservatism will rise.

I'm as conservative as one can possibly be. I have, according to Mensa, a 165+ I.Q., which would require further specialized tests to determine how high that "+" actually goes.

Show me a Libtard, any Libtard, who claims to top that, and I'll show you a lying puddle of sublimating excreta.

“liberals control all institutions”

Could it be because they refused to get a job?

Was this factored into this university sponsored government-sponsored state-sponsored paid for with our tax money study? Probably not.

If liberals are so intelligent, why aren’t they earning as much as athletes who can scarcely vocalize? All those smart libs should have rigged the system to ensure that they are paid as much as A-Rod or Kobe, but instead, they are in mediocre university or government jobs. They never get the beautiful women.
They compensate for their lack of good looks or physical ability or the ability to succeed in business by convincing each other how much more intelligent they are than the rest of the population. Sometimes they fool enough people to get elected to government offices where they can wield power and screw up the country, big time. That’s where we are today.

“...apart from a few areas in life (such as business) where countervailing circumstances may prevail...”

Oh yeah, this little thing called “business.” That unimportant side note that most of spend about third of our lives doing. We can discard that consideration entirely.

There is a huge difference between knowledge and wisdom, I.E. the ability to use knowledge appropriately and at the right time and place. Jimmy Carter was a certified nuclear engineer. That takes brains and hard work. Old Jimmah was smart, but when it came to being chief executive he couldn't put one foot in front of the other. Knowledge is one thing, wisdom and humility are something altogether different. I have no doubt some liberals are intelligent. What matters for Me is how do they apply that knowledge, and to what purpose. The other limiting factor with liberals is even if they are intelligent, they too often lead with their feelings. Liberals are led far too often down the garden path by how they feel about something , rather than what they think about it. Conservatives tend to think and (for some)pray before making decisions. The reason for this difference is simple: liberals are self- centered and conservatives tend to be centered on God, or the community. Conservatives focus is outward, liberals is inward. I have never gotten a wrong answer from God, but I have often screwed up following My own advice.

That argument supposes that all subjects have attended liberal universities for the requisite brain-washing and IQ measurement.

The real world is populated with high IQ problem solvers, leaders and innovaters who never set foot in the factories that foster fools who are trained to *feel* superior, but ain’t;).

Liberals: They Know So Much, Don’t they?

“It is already too late to avoid mass starvation.” Dennis Hayes, chief organizer—Earth Day 1

“At least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” Paul Ehrlich

“By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” Prof. Peter Gunter, North Texas State University

“In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution... by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half...” `Life’ Magazine, January 1970

“Air pollution... is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” Paul Ehrlich

“By the year 2000... there won’t be any more crude oil.” Ecologist Kenneth Watt

“In 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.” Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary, Smithsonian Institute

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years... the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” Kenneth Watt

“In the 1970s and 1980s, hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash program embarked upon now.” Paul Ehrlich, “The Population Bomb” (1968)
