It’s interesting to click on Michigan or California and watch the entire chart morph into a different scale. And it’s interesting to compare them with Nebraska. One state has unemployment at 6% or so, another is at about 14%.

Nebraska is one of three low unemployment states. The other two are South Dakota and North Dakota, both comparable with Nebraska. These states have some comminality...they are adjacent states in the north/central heartland.
