Anyone remember freedom? Remember when flying was fun and not a totalitarian nightmare?

I spent a good potion of my business flying when passengers were treated with respect and the food was pretty good. My cross-country trips on United actually had a sandwich buffet, all you could eat.

Then the trips during the late 90s and 2000 the stewardesses started acting like little Hitlers and looked like my Aunt. I got sick of them and from 2000 on my contracts had a no travel clause, except when I had to drive a few hours to monitor my subs.

I do not like the feeling of being trapped in an airplane. IMO, they are making it difficult for people who can choose to fly, and I know many people who do not choose to fly anymore.

Recently, I went to pick up a friend at a local airport. I left a bit early because I wanted to relax and watch some take-offs and landings. Guess what? You cannot even do that anymore, at least not there. The have closed off any access to windows and the waiting areas are like holding pens. I just do not have the patience to put up with large amounts of BS at this point, so not only do I not fly, I won't even go to an airport if I can help it.

So, to those who defend this kind of crap in the name of safety, enjoy yourselves. There will be more and more seats for you, and more room in the airports.
