The 2005 remake was on the other day....Keira Knightley as Elizabeth. She was good - I never realized how much she looks like Wonona Ryder.
The best version on film is the 1995 BBC adaptation, with Colin Firth as Mr Darcy. Wonderful.

The version I got from NF was badly damaged. Beware.

The version I got from NF was badly damaged. Beware.I'll keep my fingers crossed. The most frequent complaint I have with their classics is faulty audio. It would seem to be loud enough, but you can't quite make out the words spoken. No matter how high you turn up the volume you have to strain to understand. Actually, that is happening less frequently since we hit 1940. Coincidence? Perhaps.

For me, it was quite unusual. I have had very good service from NF and I have rented movies from as far back as 1913 (Melies, in that case). This P&P incident stood out because I was accustomed to expect good quality.
