Remember Sharon Tate
8/8/2010 | nolongerademocrat

Let us remember her tonight and tomorrow. And let us remember that the mastermind behind her death is still causing problems in our society. There are cults all over the world who celebrate Charles Manson. Let us think about what that says about our world.

The anniversary of her death comes slightly after midnight tonight.

I remember, I lived blocks away and a good friend lived 2 doors away.

““Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!”

—Bernadine Dohrn, wife of Bill Ayers, Obama neighbor and acquaintance”

The fact that we a President who launched his political career in this woman's house speaks volumes about how far off course we are as a nation. Unbelievable.

My brain nearly explodes. To put this into perspective, imagine if:

George W. Bush had Khalid Sheikh Mohamed write his memoirs, and he started his campaign in the home of a woman who thought Ted Bundy's work was awesome.

I have been reading a lot about the case recently. The public was lied to about the case from the very beginning. Charles Manson knew all of his victims.

What are you reading? I am interested.

Without knowing the facts of which you speak, I instinctively knew that when Bill Ayers got a whiff of Barack Hussein Obama, he salivated like the wolf. I know he was the perfect candidate, and I am so embarrassed that their plan FOOLED MOST AMERICANS!!!!!

It was my first true crime exposure (reading the book by Bugliosi - I did not know of the murders when they occurred). I was reading it when young and if the phone rang I would jump OUT of my skin. Once just after finishing the book, I used an out of the way bathroom in Topanga (someone at a shop pointed to a little building across the road, little more than a glorified outhouse with plumbing), and when I closed the stall door, the backside of it had, in peeling red, originally dripping, paint,

HELTER

SKELTER

and I got the absolute SHIVERS.

I’m currently finishing “Sinister Forces” Vol. 1 by Peter Levenda (vol 2 should arrive tomorrow). I have also read “Helter Skelter” by Bugliosi. “The Family” by Ed Sanders. “The Shadow over Santa Susanna” by Adam Gorightly. “Love Sex Fear Death” by Timothy Wyllie. “The Ultimate Evil” by Maury Terry.

And multiple websites especially focusing on articles by Dave McGowan. It is fascinating really. The most recent murders that I am aware of are the November 15, 1978 murders of Edward A. Barabas and James Terrill Craig. Of course there are probably others.

From what I have read they got a drug delivery during the evening from one of Jay Sebring’s dealers Joel Rostau. (He turned up dead too - during the Manson trial he was shot and put in the trunk of a car at JFK airport).

Dennis Hopper also reportedly said that the murders were revenge for a drug burn.

What exactly is your problem? Why can’t I be interested in one case while you are interested in a different case? Why do you feel the need to demand that I bend my interest to your will? My remembering these people on the anniversary of their deaths has nothing to do with the case you are talking about - why do you insist that it means I am ignoring victims?

You posted a thread calling for freepers to mourn over a celebrity killed more than 40 years ago, it gives me the creeps. It reminds me of the Diana celebrity nightmare.

Sharon Tate was not even a big celebrity, and the Manson murders are not something that America needs to make a big production of two generations later, it is a part of our celebrity history, not our important history that must be remembered or forever “mourned”.

It is fine for you to feel that way. Participation is not required. You don’t like it? Don’t do it then. That’s no reason to harrass the ones that do want to remember them.

Did she do any nude scenes?...I’m just asking....

BTW...RFK’s bodyguards were nothing more than to make him look important...One of them was Roosie Greer, the football player, who knew tons of stuff about football, but nothing about being a professional bodyguard.

I'm not harassing anyone, you posted a thread and I made a relevant statement on it, lay off the badgering.

Well, she did Playboy and there were lots of rumors at the time but none of those videos ever surfaced...

When Ayers was a community activist in Haarlem, he met Barry. He was at Columbia at the time. Ayers brought Barry under his wing, had him working as an activist in Haarlem then brought him to Chicago. That’s how Barry ended up in Chicago. He found the black commie they had been looking for...because he really wasn’t from the street, he was an elite like them, having been raised in a radical islamic community in Indonesia and having gone to a private school in Hawaii and having gotten free rides to Harvard and Columbia.

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.

It’s interesting because both Castro and Andropov instinctively understood long ago that such a candidate, who could play on white guilt but strike a respectable pose, could easily operate a personality cult and soar to the American presidency. Remember, Andropov had basicallly created Arafat and sold him to Carter under a similar set of premises—including that America’s need for celebrities made it more susceptible to personality cults than even Russia under Stalin. He used to chuckle about it.

I know, he always seems to get left out. Genuinely in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was so young.

Sharon Tate was also famous. The only other person with sort of a claim to fame was Abigail Folger, but that was only because people recognize the coffee name.

Jay Sebring was also fairly well-known, at the time of the murders...

Another, the second of the three, was Rafer Johnson, again, an athlete (Olympic, as I recall), and like Grier, neither a professional bodyguard, nor armed...
