Oh good, another cop bashing thread. Will we ever get to hear the other side of the story??
Read the article...
"The city of Tavares acknowledges receiving a notice of intent from Lovett's attorney but declined to comment on the case."
Oh, good, another cop ass kisser. Read the article it gives both sides of the story. The cop was being an a**hole as many cops do when their little power ploys over citizens seem to be thwarted, such as not providing ID, when you don't have to unless you have broken a law, such as speeding. Being stopped in a car, when you MUST have your drivers license at all times, is much different than being stopped on the street for no reason except some cop wants to throw his weight around. Never been there? Lucky you.
According to the article, the cops and the city refuse to tell the other side of the story.
Maybe most cops are honest and decent, but maybe this one is not.
If the cops had nothing to hide, they should be willing to tell their side of the story, but they aren't. Since the cops obviously have something to hide, they are guilty by default, and they deserve whatever civil and/or criminal charges are thrown at them.
Guilty until proven innocent -- isn't that your motto?
