Very good observation. I am a very impatient person by nature... in the sense that I just want to enjoy my life, family and faith. I think I need to realize that: "the damage done to the lawn this summer can be repaired the next... " and in turn I can learn how to cope with the elements better the next time.
We're all a bit burned out, but we need to stay engaged, stay positive, stay non-violent.
There are 8 stages to social movements. We're at stage 5.
Stage 5: Movement Identity Crisis A Sense of Failure and Powerlessness
Movement: numbers down at demonstrations, less media coverage, long-range goals not met. Unrealistic hopes of quick success are unmet. Many activists despair, burn out, and drop out. Negative rebel and naive citizen activities gain prominence in movement.
Powerholders and media claim that movement has failed, discredit movement by highlighting and encouraging negative rebel activities, sometimes through agents provocateurs.
Public alienated by negative rebels. Risk of movement becoming a subcultural sect that is isolated and ineffective.
Movement goals of Stage 5:
Parable of the sower and the seed.
Plant good seed. Fertilize with weed and feed. Pull weeds if necessary. Water. Pray. Relax.
I still don’t need Viagra.
LOL... humor on this site always gives me a boost!!
Now I feel better, thank you for that. My lawn looks like hell! (I'm told it's not dead, just "dormant.")
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Over the years, I have found that when I pray to God for relief, the devil has a way of hitting me with something else in order to draw me away from my faith. He is hoping that I will turn away from God... NEVER GIVE UP!!! God is always with us, even in the most trying of times.
It is true: It is always darkest just before the dawn... Keep looking for the sun to come up, and don't watch the clock, asking "how much longer?" To do so just makes it worse. Instead, focus on what you can do to feel like you have contributed to the positive side of things.
There has to be at least two sides to everything. There are no "peaks" if you do not have "valleys." There can be no "cold" without there being "hot." And there can be no "good" unless we deal with "bad." We can not appreciate the positives without understanding that negatives exist. In this same trend, we had to deal with Carter before we had Reagan.
As I put my 5 year old son to bed last night, he asked for a story... I covered the reasons behind America declaring independance from England, without intending to go further. It ended up with my son asking "So men died during the Revolutionary War so that we could be free?" I told him "Yes son, they did..." He then asked "Will we have to do that again?" I answered his question with a question, "Do you think it would be worth it?" He said "Yes I do..." But I told him "I hope you never have to do that. That is the reason mommy and I are going to vote tomorrow." He replied "I think it's better that we try that way first... If people don't do the right thing, then we will have to get our guns, I guess." He's 5... It brought tears to my eyes... All of this is to say that, if we raise our kids right, America will correct itself. It has a habit of doing that, and I believe we will see some change in November.

Just remember that your mother did not raise a quitter. God doesn’t make junk either. Rest a bit, (especially Keep the Sabbath) and come back with faith.
This came in late last night and it will put a smile on your face. Greg Abbott, AG for Texas, has told the EPA to stuff their co2 emmission targets where the sun don’ t shine.

I love Texas.
The DOJ has finally released the passport applications for Obama’s mother and they indirectly reveal that she got a passport in 1960-61 before her name was Soetoro, renewed it in 1965 even though her name was Soetoro at the time, and amended to the Soetoro name in 1968.
It also reveals that the government wants to hide that fact and will claim records have been destroyed in order to not have to show the records.
And it shows that somebody never learned from the Dan Rather Memogate, because they’re STILL using proportionate fonts when they make forgeries that supposedly were originally typed on a typewriter.
The good news is that this cuts directly to the issue of whether Obama could have been born in Mombasa as he told Freeper Race Bannon in the summer of 1980. The passport records say yes - and that somebody high in government is willing to lie in order to hide that from the public.
These people are cooking their own goose. All these lies will give a newly-elected Republican majority in January all the reason they need for Darrell Issa to do - as Michelle Bachman calls it - non-stop investigations to get to the bottom of the garbage we’ve just been put through.
Soon the military will either give Lt Col Lakin discovery (which will result in Obama being exposed) or they will find him guilty and he will have standing to sue in the civilian courts for specific, reparable injury caused to him by a President exercising the Presidential powers when the Constitution (20th Amendment) forbids it.
The Presidential powers Obama is forbidden to exercise also include the duty to nominate SCOTUS justices. If Kagan is approved there will be 2 liberal SCOTUS justices who cannot Constitutionally hold the office because they were not nominated by Joe Biden, the only person the 20th Amendment allows to act as President since Jan 20, 2009.
That could be invaluable for some notable lawsuits coming up - specifically the Arizona immigration enforcement case and the healthcare takeover cases, both of which are advancing in the appeals process.
I think it would be HILARIOUS if Arizona first contested to have Sotomayor and Kagan kicked out of the court because Joe Biden didn’t nominate them as required by the 20th Amendment, and then won their case allowing them to secure the borders in spite of our treasonous federal administration.
And then, before 2 other liberal justices could be confirmed, the healthcare takeover cases were decided in favor of the Constitution.
The dems are handing us everything we ever wanted on a stick if we just have the courage to call them on it. They’ve left the whole root of this lawlessness exposed for the cutting if we will only have the wisdom to do it.
I think we need to embolden our leaders to have that courage and wisdom. These are drastic times and we need a drastic - but totally lawful and appropriate - response. That door is WIDE OPEN if we will only walk through it.
He is not unaware. Psalm 66:7
Mine’s full of crabgrass but it can wait. You’re not alone.
You don’t plant the seeds in the morning and pick vegetables that afternoon. The tortoise methodically plodded, slow and steady, and won the race.
Seriously... each day is a blessing. I, too, can become discouraged, even despondent at times. But then I remind myself of the blessings I have been granted and I take comfort in the resiliency of my family and this Nation. The worm is turning, so to speak, and there are signs of it everywhere. November will be seismic, I believe, and I remain hopeful that a true leader will emerge for 2012.
You can always write a grand opus, give up, and leave the FR in a hissy fit. I’ve done it (a few times) and it always feels good. The bad part is when you have to come crawling back in through the supplicants door of humiliation ...
I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Lifeline. I got a call center in Pakistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

Murphy walks into the bar, both eyes are black and blue and closed shut, his nose is broken, he’s bleeding out of both ears and he has a big gash in his skull.
(all in an Irish Brogue)
Barkeep: Murphy what’n heck happen to you ?
Murph: I got into a fight with O’Brien.
Barkeep: O’Brien ? That little shit, he couldn’t beat you on his best day. He must have had sometting in his fist.
Murh: Aye..he did, he had a shovel and he proceeded to beat me about the head and shoulders sometting fierce.
Barkeep: Surely you must have had sometting in your own fist?
Murph: Aye...Mrs. O’Brien’s left breast and a ting of beauty it is too, but it’s udderly useless in a fight.

A young guy from Wisconsin moves to Florida and goes to a big “everything under one roof” department store looking for a job.
The manager says, “Do you have any sales experience?”
The kid says, “Yeah. I was a salesman back in Wisconsin.”
Well, the boss liked the kid and gave him the job.
“You start tomorrow. I’ll come down after we close and see how you did.”
His first day on the job was rough, but he got through it.
After the store was locked up, the boss came to see him. “How many customers bought something from you today?”
The kid says “One”.
The boss says “Just one? Our sales people average 20 to 30 customers a day. How much was the sale for?”
The kid says, “$101,237.65”.
The boss says, “$101,237.65? What the heck did you sell him?
The kid says, “First, I sold him a small fish hook.
“Then I sold him a medium fishhook.
Then I sold him a larger fishhook.
“Then I sold him a new fishing rod.
“Then I asked him where he was going fishing, and he said ‘down the coast,’ so I told him he was going to need a boat, so we went down to the boat department and I sold him a twin engine Chris Craft. Then he said he didn’t think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to the automotive department and sold him that 4x4 Expedition.”
The boss says, “A guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a BOAT and a TRUCK? Is that right?”
The kid answers, “No, the guy came in here to buy tampons for his wife, and I said, ‘Dude, your weekend’s shot; you should go fishing.”

small steps, deep breaths, then focus your next three steps.
If you try to devour the entire end game at once you’ll kill yourself.
Take a look at one thing you can do a week, post on facebook, find a liberal point of view and poke holes in their thinking, pass an email on.
Focus on one or two small things and chip away at it.
