Like him or not, Dr. Escoffery is a qualified candidate for U.S. Senate from Florida. Florida Primary is less than 3 weeks away (24 August 2010) and I can only assume that the "AfD" tag was placed by someone who does not want anyone to know who he is because they consider him a "threat" to Marco Rubio.
If you are a Wiki fan please comment on the "AfD" tag and request that his page NOT be deleted.

Thanks
afd???
Enquiring minds want to know.....
So WTF is AfD?
Yeah - Wikipedia tends to do that when the article is written like a campaign commercial.
No one really cares though.
AfD, although NOT an actual term used by Wikipedia, stands for (I’m assuming) “Articles for Deletion”.
And I don’t blame them.
Nothing is truly cited, the format is crappy and it’s just a campaign letter on Wikipedia and nothing more.
Oh, and adding crap like this:
“I will have to assume that anyone advocating that his wiki page be deleted is only trying to keep his message burried. That is wrong. David.osborne1 (talk) 09:35, 4 August 2010 (UTC)”
Only makes you look bad or desperate, one or the other.
that comment was supposed to be posted on the “AfD - Talk” page for the article — NOT the actual article. I removed that comment from the article itself. Your comment is correct, thanks. Many folks use wikipedia to get a snapshot of who a person is before doing more “in depth” research. Removing a wiki page for a candidate 20 days before a primary election is a poor attempt to bury the candidates message.. IMHO
Why is the Marco Rubio fan club so worried about Dr. Escoffery and why is he avoiding ANY contact with him and not willing to debate him on the issues that matter to conservatives? If Marco Rubio is such a great candidate than he should not be trying so hard to avoid debate with Dr. Escoffery. IMHO
Explaination of AfD as posted on Wikipedia:
Articles for deletion (AfD) is where Wikipedians discuss whether an article should be deleted. Articles listed are debated for at least seven days, after which the deletion process proceeds based on community consensus. Then the page may be kept, merged or redirected, transwikied (copied to another Wikimedia project), renamed/moved to another title, userfied to a user subpage, or deleted per the deletion policy.
Knowing that... I am asking folks to post a comment on the “Afd - Talk” page defending Dr. Escoffery’s page... You don’t have to agree with him, but certainly an American Citizen willing to be a REPUBLICAN candidate for the U.S. Senate from Florida should at least be allowed to have a basic BIO page on Wikipedia.. One of the reasons a candidate “needs” a basic wiki page is becauae other wiki pages that discuss politics need to have a page to link to when candidates are discussed on other wiki pages such as
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_election_in_Florida,_2010
you could put a page up there, but actually follow the format requirements (you didn’t) or make it at least read like it’s NOT just a campaign ad (you didn’t)....
What part of the the article is written like a campaign ad? It is the same exact format as every other “person” page. Not sure what you mean?
pass it on to your wiki friends out there.. whether you like Dr. Escoffery or not, advocating to have his wiki page removed is just nasty.. IMHO
BTTT
Why bother? Wikipedia (the ‘free for the masses’ encyclopedia) is written for liberals by liberals.
That may be true but it is a common source for basic factual data. There are no opinions posted on Dr Escoffery’s page but there is a link to his campaign website as is common with other candidates.
When you interview someone for a job do you care more about how effective they will be ON THE JOB, or how good they were at the interview?
I am not dismissing the fact that campaigns are important, but in the end we need to decide who will be BEST ON THE JOB for the next 6 years...
Far too often we elect folks who are GREAT CAMPAIGNERS but when they get to Washington we are surprised when they don't VOTE the way we thought they were going to based on their "GREAT CAMPAIGN"..
electing a person who has LIVED the American dream with a LIFETIME of conservative principles in the REAL WORLD is a much better choice than a RINO POLITICIAN who can run a "GREAT CAMPAIGN" --- Furthermore, A campaign strategy that includes ignoring your opponent because you can WIN without having to engage in a debate ... does not deserve MY VOTE.. and I am asking the Republican voters to seriously think about that on 24 August 2010 and vote for Dr. William Escoffery III
Ping to new freeper Dr. Bill Escoffery
